Schultz's balling

Jerry will give him a top five contract in the offseason and bench Lamb for more two TE sets with Jarwin.
This makes no sense, and is contrary to history. They have not given out top 5 money to a TE in many years (if ever), were willing to go with young TE's this season, and have used 3 WR's extensively for a number of years.

Jerry is not a good GM, and you don't have to make up nonsense to prove that, so why do it?

Schultz may be one of those guys that needs to play alot of snaps to do well. Get into the flow of the game and feel comfortable, but just spot snaps and he underperforms.
Well I'll say this. In limited snaps he looks......bad. So maybe that is the case.

Schultz was not drafted as a blocking TE and he's also not particularly good. Don't confuse volume with talent.
I don't understand this. Most tight ends need volume to succeed. You saw what giving Jason Witten volume did for us last year? Volume doesn't equate to production.

he's been a surprise for sure. but as has been stated, I wonder if it's the amount of passes we're attempting, along with the fact that there's weapons everywhere else on the field. in any event, he's paying dividends thus far.

 It was spiteful sarcasm. I should have maybe added some emojis or something to my post.

I'll take the kind of production this talentless TE is providing anytime. He looked bad in game 1 when he was thrust into playing more after Jarwin got hurt, but since then has had 208 yards (69 yard average) with a 71% catch %, and 2 TD's. That's easily sufficient to keep an open mind and have some optimism about him.

I'll eat some crow because I didn't think he had it in him to succeed in this league but I am starting to think regardless who is playing the TE position for Dallas was going to see an uptick in production with Dak under center.

Blake Jarwin could easily has similar stats as well if wasn't injured

Fair enought. I assumed there was at least some intentional exaggeration, but wasn't sure that it wasn't at least partially serious.

Dudes on here was constantly calling Shultz a JAG because he never got an opportunity...SMH.

Moral of the story: stop trashing guys before they get their chance to show up.

Dudes be believing these coaches be knowing everything, when they messed up all the time on simple stuff observers see like starting Knight at RT over Steele.
Jason Garrett robbed Dalton and Jarwin of crucial development time by allowing Jason Witten to come back and play significant snaps last year. Witten is only getting about 25% of the snaps in LV this year. Should have been about that level last year to give 2 more athletic TE's a look.

Even Blake Bell has been a pleasant surprise. He hasn't had many targets or receptions, but he catches what is catchable, he is averaging 14.3 yards per catch, and his catches I think have all been 1st downs.

He would have been considered a JAG and still be a JAG with Garrett running the show.

We would still be using Witten and Schultz would be nothing more than a blocking TE.

And the Raiders are letting their best TE do the catching. Can't remember his name but he was a one-man show against New Orleans.

He also had a fumble against ATL, and a poor route/drop against Seattle that should have been a touchdown (or real close to it).

He is the product of all the weapons around him - there are probably 20 TEs in the league who could do the same thing .

That is what I think, but he also has some really nice catches and looks smooth. Time will tell

So, you think very good players, or even great players, never fumble? If he proves to have a consistent problem with fumbles, come back to me. Until then, this is a nonsensical argument.

Whether there are 20 TE's in the league that can do the same thing is your opinion, and something we have no way of knowing or verifying, but that doesn't change the fact he has significant production, and has played well enough it's ridiculous to pretend it's meaningless. When was the last time we saw a TE perform like this with the Cowboys for 3 straight games?

No I'm saying that he has bad plays every week, and hasn't been performing well. He's an average TE with inflated stats because of the matchups he gets in this offense.
