This defense lack of success lays only at the feet of Nolan. There was no off season or preseason games and yet Nolan installed a complicated convoluted defense that requires the players to fit his scheme instead of doing the smart thing without the off season and preseason games and come up with a scheme that fits what the players do best. This defense hasn't been this bad since the Cowboys first season and they didn't have anywhere near as good of talent as this defense has. It's all because of Nolan's scheme.

Ok..what was the problem last year and the year before that? They were playing a very simple defense and still couldn't stop anyone when needed...this goes deeper than just coaching imo.

umm and? we all knew this wasn't happening , of course more adjustments and changes will be discussed and try too implement.. people are sniffing glue f you think the DC after 4 games was going to be fired...

there are other ways to take power and decsions from him behind the scenes...

they owe us nothing because fans dont get to make emotional decsions for an NFL team full of professional football coaches..

ITS BEEN FOUR GAMES!!!!!!! WE NEARLY Didnt HAVE FOOTBALL, NO PRESEASON, PRESEASON GAMES LIMITED TO NO CPNTATC AT ALL SO A FAKE TC ETC ETC ETC

IT SUCKS TO BE 1-3 NO DOUBT ITS KICK IN THE NARDS BUT THIS STAFF HAS THE RIGHT TO TRY AND GET IT FIXED OVER TIME..

ADD INJURIES and nearly 70% of the defensive players are new All added TO THE MIX ETC

calm the flip down already!

this is a lost season, we will get a top 10 pick, hopefully we pick a good OT

Sadly they will go 6-10 and win the NFC East somehow and so instead of a top 10 pick they will pick 20 and get a less talented player and the cycle continues.

That second gif is a perfect example of A Woods sucking at being a two gapper. He was just ok hitting 1 gap and penetrating. Now he stands up, grabs his blocker, and asks him to be gentle.

Poe is doubled, sure, but getting pushed 5 yards deep? That's not what you want from your big fatty. He gets pushed so far back Thomas has to go around him.

Jaylon actually occupies two blockers and holds his ground. That's something. Probably could've blown it up if he could push a TE, but at least he's not on skates.

Then Wilson shows that excellent tackling technique Nolan teaches- dive and pray. Just fall down and close your arms hoping the guy will be between them.

This is a bad decision and speaks volumes on McCarthy as a relationship guy and not a performance based evaluator. It's obvious that Nolan is trying to make the pegs fit the hole and his round orifice is unable to accommodate the triangles and squares of the Cowboys personnel. I do not dig coordinators who work from the box away from the team. That's where scouts and quality control guys belong, out of sight and out of the way.

Letting Malik Collins get away and keeping Woods, Letting Jones leave and signing J. Smith, letting Heath get away and signing a Ha Ha, signing the two FA Lardasses in the middle who can't play, relying on Aldon Smith, an obvious one dimensional player, for 3 downs, etc.; who is responsible for this mess? Nolan had to have input in the personnel decisions leading up to this collapse.

I have never seen a defense play so poorly at all three levels. There is nothing to salvage there. There is no amount of work or coaching that is going to get this fixed. The damage was well under way in the late winter/spring and the weight of the poor personnel decisions coupled with injuries has broken the camel's back.

As much as I can't get on board the Dak wagon, he is not the reason for the issues with this team, not even close. The defense is responsible for the losses to Seattle and Cleveland. Dak and the offense have done enough to get this team to 3-1, 2-2 at worst.

Don't know how much more of this brand of football I can take. At least in 1989 the Cowboys were a complete rebuild. This team was supposed to be (stupid me) on the fast track to the post season with McCarthy. I couldn't be more disappointed in his lack of leadership, choice at DC and refusal to fix it.

They way were going, maybe Trevor Lawrence.

See....that is the Million Dollar question.....if we were to lose / tank our way to Lawrence....

I feel you need to:

1) Let Dak go
2) Pay Dalton to play 2-3 years
3) Trade the Lawrence pick for lots of draft capital
4) Cut the dead weight contracts (Jaylon, Tank, Crawford,........)
5) Play all of the young guys
5) Start Over
