So we got to rebuild the defense and OL now, while we expect Dak to translate into even half of what RW is, after watching him flounder around for years?

As far as the Dak-Stans are concerned the no 1 sports franchise in the world is at the mercy of Dak......lol...Patience come the Spring they will receive there final Dak-knockout punch and there out for the count...yes including Rockport! :muttley:

It means when he gets under center you know what's coming- run or play-action. It limits your playbook. Makes you more predictable.
I don't understand though he's putting up points and yards...you think teams are allowing him to do it?

Trying to rile up the site huh lol? You can't be that dumb to think Jerry wouldn't sign Dak. Regardless of how you feel about Dak don't sit here and say you think Jerry won't sign him lol. You should be smart enough to see how this plays out.
Don’t feed the trolls. Dak is good. He will get 40+ from us or another team in the offseason. He has to play perfectly for us to even stay in a game. We have good receivers but nobody in the prime Dez years. Dak has made Gallup and Shultz. The offensive line is below average and Zeke is a shell of his former self. We have developed a franchise quarterback. Nobody coming out in the draft next season would be a better quarterback then Dak and I love Trevor Lawrence.

His talent base won't allow for this type of drop pass.
His coaches know more than anyone how low this young mans QB ceiling is....

These stats tell a lot, which is how Dak limits the offense. He can’t do a traditional 5-7 step drop and this team operate with Dak exclusivity out of shotgun and a quick 1-3 step drop for quick passes, making him extremely predictable. That’s why we run play action so much and now we’ve effectively turned Zeke into a full-time decoy to pad Dak’s stats in garbage time. This severely limits and has been limiting Linehan when he was here and Moore now. And this is a Coryell offense.
Yes these stats tell a lot. The other stat of the 5 offensive drives that we had that equaled 53 yards and 2 TO's in the Cleveland game tell me more. I don't disagree with you on your case that Dak is not elite. I disagree with the blanket statement that he's garbage. He is an above average starter with limitations in his game. The pro Dak people want you to believe he is better than what he is and the anti Dak people want you to believe he is worse than what he is. He's an above average QB with flaws.

I personally believe Dak is good but not great. I feel that his play has contributed to the teams poor record. My biggest concern about Dak is our offense has not been able to sustain drives and keep our defense off the field. I feel Dak has become such a polarizing player on this team because of the contract situation. When Dak was on his rookie deal and costing us pretty much nothing against the cap then he was great. We got a great bargain. An above average QB for below average price. Now Dak is playing for 31 million and (allegedly) asking for much more. So now we have an above average QB who is costing elite price, and going to cost more.

Take contract discussion out and just going off what I see as a player. I am worried that this offense can not sustain drives and is turning the ball over. That's how Dak has hurt this team and that's his part in the 1-3 record. He not the only contributor to the 1-3 record but as of today he's the only one without a contract and demanding elite money but not playing elite ball. But he's also not "garbage". There's a lot worse QB's out there.

here's something you can't say is garbage or below average. Going into free agency this year Prescott was rated as the NUMBER ONE free agent and garbage players or players below average are rated as the #1 free agent. This was before Prescott brought the Cowboys back from be3ing down by 20 points and almost came all the way back from being down by 27 points. Every garbage QB and below average QB has 3 consecutive games of 450 or more passing yards. Oh wait, Prescott is the ONLY QB to do that in the NFL EVER.

This is pathetic. OP if you know so much about quarterbacks how about you use your time and get paid for it. Some assistant quarterback coaches make 500,000+ a year.

Elliott is already getting elite money for RB's and he's been a turnover machine this season. Not a word about that.

Tell Clint I said Hi

Funny story about Clint. We grew up Cowboys fans but now he's on Houston talk radio. To please the rabid Cowboy hating Houston Texan fan base he talks like he hates the Cowboys on air. He doesnt. For god sake he was on the sideline when Emmitt broke the all time rushing record. Must have been cool.

What does that have to do with not taking a traditional drop from under center?

He’s complete garbage when not surrounded by talent. You can argue every QB drops in performance some when they lose a key player like Zeke of Cooper isn’t around, but the drop off for Dak moves him into levels of ineptitude. He was setting Quincy Carter records of futility without Cooper and when Zeke was suspended, he floundered against garbage teams and couldn’t even put up double digit scoring against the three winning teams he played. Against 3-4 of the top five play action defenses we played last year, he was utter trash, meaning teams that didn’t bite on Zeke, Dak and his one-read stick was simply ineffective, but he padder stats in garbage time to mark this ineptitude.

I say he is average to above-average based on the current QB's in the league. Out of the 31 QB's, who would you rather have than Dak? Here's a list...

-- Definitely
Brees
Brady
Rogers
Mahomes
Wilson

-- Probably
Jackson
Roethlisberger

-- Maybe
Watson
Ryan
Wentz
Stafford
Carr

-- Small possibility...
Burrow
Allen
Mayfield

There are more but I doubt you'd want any of those over Dak. Where does he fit in on that list above? If he fits into the top 10, then you can't say he's a "garbage QB". Even if he fits into the top 15 that would by definition be average. Saying he is garbage is just hyperbole.... I'd put Dak in with the "Maybe" group of QB's, even if toward the bottom of that list.

When down by 4-8 points in the final four minutes if a game, meaning a TD to come out on top, in respect to the league average since 2016:

Passer Rating of Dak is 70.6, the league average is 76.5

YPA for Dak is 5.8, the league average is 6.6

The TD rate is 2.8% while the league average is 4.6%

Int rate is 2.7% while the league average is 3.7%.

Sack % is 7.7% versus 5.5% for the lasher average.

To summarize, Checkdown Charlie isn’t even average, per Action Network. I can give a summary of why he’s a joke in this aspect, including he really is risk averse and only throws the ball on desperation, down by three scores.

Here is the kicker, as I’ve been repeating ad nauseum. Notice the point of emphasis on Prescott and the infamous DROP-BACK. He can’t do it worth a dime, which clearly illustrates his incompetent and one-trick pony routine. And he’s not even close to Romo, let alone Mahomes, so cut the BS comparisons with this mediocre joke, while both Linehan and Moore had to basically completely eliminate the traditional drop-back for this bum.
Ah...Yes! The Cowboy Gold “Standard” Tony Romo.

Carry On!:lmao2:

Putting all the garbage and average talk aside, I think he's gone after this year. Either by choice or because we need picks to build a defense more than we need a $40 million dollar QB. Let's make him sound like the best thing since sliced bread so we can fleece somebody else like we've been done.
