I want to see what Dalton can do with a week of starter reps.

I think this is a good thing for the Cowboys. Short term and hopefully long term.

You of all people know better than this. You know good as well it doesn’t matter how this Dak injury plays out. Ol Jerry is still at the helm. What do u think we are potentially getting a Lawrence or a Trask now? You excited to watch those kids careers waste in Dallas to?

Dalton did what he needed to do. Let’s see what happens when teams game plan for him. This is what has me worried going forward.

A lot of times backups can surprise for a few games, but once coaches start learning their tendencies and gameplanning against them, they come back down to earth quickly.

The bootleg game has to go now. Dalton is a vertical passer, he will rely on the WR's running precise routes and his arm to get the job done. He has 3+ guys that can do that. So IMO it's not a totally desperate situation. We might be surprised how well it works and that is absolutely no shot at Dak because I will 100% miss Dak....

Man up and tell everyone your title!

My title? I posted "Let the Dalton era begin; Game winning drive"......so again how is that celebrating a Dak injury? While there are some on here making crap comments literally celebrating the injury I was encouraged to see Dalton lead Dallas to a victory....yet that is a bad thing to see Dallas win?

Oh, it’s not Dak and now you want people to be rational with the QB position. Sorry pal, Dalton gets the same testament you gave Dak. We got lucky today.
We are comparing one quarterback who is earning circa $31 million and another who is earning a base salary of what $3 million?

That is the entire point of most people's issue with Dak Prescott. Nobody cares that he's earning a lot of money and good for him that he has around $31 million in the bank for playing 5 games this season, effectively back pay for earning peanuts over the past four years and fully deserved. But it's about the salary cap in the modern era.

Whilst gutting and anyone with any decency will have been upset, the injury for Prescott does provide an opportunity to gauge some sort of value on him going forwards. If Dalton stinks up the joint and we barely win another game then yep Prescott was a whole lot better than I and some others on here thought. I think he will make a full recovery from the injury so there's always the option to sign him up. Conversely, if Dalton plays well and we win the division then wouldn't that suggest that we could be better off drafting a rookie QB going forwards and not paying Prescott $40 million a year if we want to build an overall stronger roster?

If the latter, then imagine the backlash Jerry Jones would face for not paying Prescott after this injury - difficult one for PR.

We got lucky thanks to Gallop.

This is the bottom line. All those who’ve said that playing quarterback in the NFL is easy and anyone could do what that bum Dak was doing are about to be proven wrong or right.

this is a literal experiment lol

We had an eight point lead. Giants score a touchdown with a two point conversion. And then they scored a field goal. That’s 11 points. Then Elliot scored a touchdown and we kick to feel goul

If you don't understand what you yourself wrote, then your beyond help, what your saying now is correct what you posted in post #70 was not. Get over it say you made a mistake and move one. For the record Dalton was the QB who got us the 8 point lead as at that point Dak was hurt

Here is your quote again "He gave up an 11 point lead."

Yeah probably but what if Prescott still thinks he's talented and refuses to accept anything less than his original asking price? Why would the Cowboys pay it now after he's damaged goods and went 1-3 if they wouldn't pay it last offseason?

This could, emphasis on could, lead to a divorce and I would dance a friggin jig if it did.

Yea brilliant catch, from a good throw......it's one of the reasons some of us advocate not paying Dak a big contract, because our WR corp is so talented.

Remember it's a team game .....I seriously doubt some fans see it that way.
Got lucky against a winless team.

If he’s smart, he’ll sign a smaller deal and win a ton. Champions get paid.

Let the Andy Dalton season begin!!!!! A game winning drive!!!!!!!

How the offense suddenly looks so much more dynamic with a QB who actually can read the defense after the snap.
The pass to Pollard was such a beauty. You are not used to that with Dak under the center.

I am awaiting all the Dak lovers to comment on the win. But but but... he is a leader!

Uh huh...

just morbid curiosity on my part regarding the inner workings of a Dak hater, how much credit on that drive does Dak get for getting us deep into Giants territory?
