Dak will be fine.. He will get paid a ton of money this season and will be due a huge raise one way or another next year. The only way he doesn't get a big deal is if he never makes it back to the field. Which there is about a zero % chance of.

I am sure he has an insurance policy that will pay him millions. He will be fine and the team isn’t stuck with a huge salary cap hit if he can’t play.

As others have said he'll be fine. He still gets paid good for this year and can at worst sign a mid tier 2 year deal when he gets back.

That would actually put him on pace to cash out in 2023 when the salary cap is supposedly going to skyrocket........

What if Dalton comes in and is just as good.

Does Dak still get all the money?

If this year has shown me anything it’s that this team is far away from being a contender and paying a QB 40 million that isn’t elite would not be a great move for us.

You in no way can specualte on what kind of contract he will or won't get next season...if he comes back and shows healthy perhaps, but until the docs say he will 100% recover you can only guess with no facts at this time..or I have yet to read any

On no planet can anybody convince me that what this 32 million dollar QB and his empty calories can do with this roster on his best day, a 3 million dollar QB in Andy Dalton can’t..

I believe he's made like 50 mil in endorsements plus this years salary. I'm sure he'll be fine. I think a more plausible scenario is going to be another franchise tag next year.

Kind of works out for both parties. We can see if he's healthy and back before giving him a big deal, and for dak it'll allow him to go after that big contract again.

Dallas isn’t going to franchise him if they end up 9-7 or 10-6 with Andy Dalton.. Are you crazy? Dalton may even sign for 15 million to play in his home state and end his career here. Who knows? Dallas benched Romo for this mediocre QB on the cheap. Jerry ain’t going to pay 35 million plus after everybody was yapping in the off-season how “Dak was in control” and “won the contract negotiation”.

Dalton may actually set a new precedent in the NFL for QB pay... the exact opposite that players want to see happen.

Do you honestly think a 32 yo backup going 9-7 will be enough to steal Dak's team from him? C'mon dude.....LOL

The cap is shrinking. He won't get paid the money he was hoping for, that's for sure.

People will now talk like we were going to the Super Bowl had Dak not been injured. Yes, all the players love Dak. Yes, Dak is a great guy. Yes, we lose a scrambling QB. But with these offensive weapons, there will hopefully be very little drop off with Dalton, if any. The main concern is now what it was this morning: our horrible defense.

Jerry has the leverage now. Will he use it? I'd say 15 to 20 mill one year deal to see how well he comes back. Handing out a huge deal at this point would be pure stupidity.
