He had 138 yards and a TD 2 weeks ago, so not exactly "withering away on the vine". The reality is there is a limit to the number of passes to go around, even with the Cowboys throwing as much as they have this year, and Gallup, Lamb and Cooper can't all have big weeks every week.
Of course. This just ties into what I have seen as a limitation in Daks game. It is basically my biggest grip. Many number 2 WR on this team have been thrown under the bus because of their inability to produce . I have continued to maintain that this was because of Daks inability to drop that pass in.

When Romo came off the bench in 2016 immediately he attacked the defense with the 2nd WR and then Dalton does the same thing. I believe this is a direct result of a defensive game plan for Dak is exploited by the Traditional QB who looks for Keys in the defense in order to exploit the open spots. It is no coincidence that Romo and Dalton would attack the Defenses weakness. Which is always the 2nd WR in single coverage.

With that being said i believe Daks insistence to force the ball into the crowded part of the field that the defense continues to defend with the extra safety is a testament to his weakness as a QB.

Last week Schultz took a shot to the knee. . . Amari refused to get his head taken off and gave up on the route. . . this week to open the game Lamb took a hard hit. . . Schultz is getting forced fed . . . Lamb is dominating the slot. . . and Cooper is working his *** off to get open in order to be a security blanket (and you all wonder why he is tired at the end of the game) . . . Dak stares him down and he still creates space with his amazing feet. . . meanwhile Gallup is nothing but a decoy.

Dalton comes in and drops 2 dimes. . . he just put the league on notice. . . if there's a 50/50 ball Gallup will go get it. Since Dalton has the ability to throw to the open space Gallup is gonna feast. Defenses will shade a Safety his way and then Zeke will eat. . . you wanna double Gallup and bring a safety up. . . Lamb is running down the middle of the field safety runs with him knowing its a pass. Cooper has single coverage. . . play your heart out and contain these weapons . . . oh no Schultz is open past the pylon.

This is the situation all season. . . yet Dak threw for 450 ads for a record breaking pace. . . meanwhile in crucial moments this team is contained. . . well that all came down on the shoulders of Dak and his Abilities or rather inabilities. . . I believe Dalton possesses a traditional QB skill set which I believe is what will unleash this offense. . . he is crafty and has been around the NFL a long time which is invaluable . . . this offense will thrive with a crafty QB. . .

For me those 2 Gallup passes were indicative and a foreshadow of things to come

The last couple of weeks Gallup has been withering away on the vine. Immediately Dalton hits him on the sideline route and deep. The last few weeks Gallup has been neglected. As Romo pointed out he basically runs the go route and he is a beast with 50/50 balls.

It was very encouraging to see Andy going his way. This will open the whole offense up for everyone. Especially Zeke. No more single high safeties with the threat of Gallup and Dalton

Also did you see the placement of the pass to Cooper, which allowed Cooper to run after the catch and pick up the 1st down. Good stuff

I wish the offensive line was in better shape but this is the hand that was dealt. Hopefully the young dogs step it up

Not only Gallup all our WR-TE will see an upswing in their production and not in Garbage time I might add.
Look for Zeke to produce more as he will see more lanes opening-up as the defenses won't be playing the run all game long.

Yes because we are going to throw the Ball EVEN MORE than we have been.....Although I'm not sure that goes with your Zeke will produce more...so what your thinking is we will have the ball twice as much on offense as we have been.....and unless they added time to the games that means you believe the Defense got better and is now going to give the offense the ball back with alot of turnovers....I'm confused are we going to throw it more or run it more...or are we going to start getting more turnovers?

So when gallup starts to pick up are you going to ask what’s going on with Coop or Cd? Because there’s only one football last I checked

Gallup actually gets the most WR snaps because he's the 2nd best blocking WR.

How are you able to determine that in a little over a quarter? You do realize there is only one football, right? I actually think Dallas start becoming a more balanced offense when they started giving Zeke the ball. And if they stay balanced, there are going to be less balls to go to any of the receivers.

I have a feeling if we can protect Dalton then we can attack more areas of the field with him.
When you protect your QB they can find open guys
No team can cover our receivers very long so protect the QB and good things will happen

You got a taste of what an experienced quality QB can do with the ball in his hands with 50 sec to go in the Giants game.
The days of dink and dunk are over!

This QB doesn't need his WR to be open by a mile to throw the ball....

Just to be clear what your saying is Dalton is going to have the most big plays of any QB in the league by a mile...I mean Dak was already leading that stat...and remeber it only counts if its against a"winning team" with a "good defense" and we can't be behind or "its a garbage time" play those or your rules not mine. I feel for you over the rest of the season because your not going to be able to win an argument about Andy from the rules you set for a Cowboys QB.

Every throw snap sack 3 and out...this will be brutal for you....again its hard to help you because you set these rules that the Cowboys QB must be perfect or he is not good.

Did anyone throw Gallup under the bus last year, or even our #3 receiver Cobb? All Of the top 3 receivers were very poductive last year, and I don’t recall a lot of complaints other than Cooper having nagging injuries. This year our top 3 WRs are also highly productive, plus the 4 and 5 WR and a TE are also contributing, and the overwhelming majority of fans on this site seem to glow about our receiving group.

As for Gallup specifically, the premise of the thread was false to begin with. Gallup hadn’t been ignored for several weeks before this past game, and in fact 2 weeks before had 138 yards and a TD. He was used no differently with Dalton than in previous games - as the downfield/big play threat. He happened to make some great plays this week

I think the reason Cooper gets questioned is because he has the big contract.

I think there will be a lot of things that happen during this Dalton era that will open some fans eyes. I am honestly curious to see it unfold. Inquiring minds want to know

It may open the eyes of Dakers and it may open some eyes of non-believers( I am not a hater).

It may be the most interesting thing of this whole season as a Cowboys fan if our defense does not start playing better
