They are missing that certain hunger.

When was the last time a Dallas player showed what Baker did on Monday?

It's the culture and atmosphere. Jerry's insistence on being the face of the franchise undermines coaches and makes a difficult job impossible.

No ones talking me out of that general idea.

In a word the problem is "comfort" Jerry's comfortable, the coaches are comfortable, the players are comfortable. Only the fans are restless, and from the looks of it we might need to get comfortable with our discomfort:(

why would you create this kind of franchise? That’s the baffling part of this. Jerry as a businessman has to have some sense that running any org this way is madness.
You answered your own question . Jerry is a businessman and the money is still rolling in , even when they lose, so why change. Some fans are going to buy tickets and tee shirts even when the team is horrible. The fans are a big reason why Jerry does not feel pressured to put winning teams on the field. These fans have no standards or expectations.

Yup. I've said for years season ticket holders are the cause of this garbage

There’s no accountability for anyone in this organization. Because if the people at the top are never held accountable, no one else can either. It’s really simple.
I hear this all the time, but how does anyone outside the organization know anything about accountability?

The Jones' are the common denominator to the madness and dysfunction. It's been whispered by some in the know (Aikman, Sanders, Parcells, etc...) that the Jones' run a club med type culture, so it's not surprising but is incredibly disappointing to hear Bart Scott say this. And the Jones' won't allow a strong enough personality in the building again that will challenge this culture. Parcells was only here long enough to get that new stadium financed. I thought McCarthy would have been a stronger presence by this point but I think he was desperate just to get back in the league.

Further, the fact that Stephen and Jerry won't hire a GM to make the personnel decisions, is the reason why the start almost every year as paper champions and then crash and burn. Case in point, a strong GM would have franchised Zeke or let him walk. I said this when he was holding out. Example: Steelers. Yes it hurt to let a talent like Ladaveon Bell leave the building, but they knew they could find that production elsewhere for a much cheaper price. And that investment they would have made at RB, gets put into their defense, which is rock solid year in and year out. I mean look at the cap hit the Cowboys are taking for Zeke. Almost $10M this year and $12M next year. When you consider the production they're getting from him, it's maddening. When you look at the top 10 players by cap hit, the Cowboys are getting little to no production from any of them, either due to injury or just poor play. We won't even get into what Jaylon Smith's cap hit is this year and next. I will make you want to vomit. This franchise is a mess.

Yea, owners get fired every day.

They just replaced the head coach. That's where accountability ends, as far as players are concerned.

Last I check Cowboys dusted the Ravens back in 2016. Bart Scott talking about that win they barely got from us when Garrett was coaching in 2012 (during a rebuild) that Wade Phillips coach team in 2008 and a unsettle Wade Phillips team back in 2004?

Bart Scott said he knows what hes doing and thats after basically saying he doesnt really care for him. And then he said everytime they played dallas they knew we were soft

Basically said the players are too dumb and soft.

they played well in the 1st quarter against the cardinals. Once the turnovers came rolling, it shot our morale. The defense gives up their effort too easily.

I’m not sold on Nolan at all and I would bet hardly any of us are at this point. However, this train wreck isn’t a result of one pernicious variable. It’s a whole lot ish coming together all at once and this ish is pouring in from the FO, the coaching staff, and the players.

This team is turning into a toxic nightmare.

But we are in first place!!

The issue is we changed the defense from a 4/3 to a 3/4. Then they tried to blend the defense by having DLaw and Griffin put their hand on the ground. I don’t understand why you would change to a 3/4 when we don’t have the linemen for that defense. I am hoping Gregory can play outside linebacker in this scheme.
We are not playing a 3-4

check out 2005 Niners and 2013-2014 Falcons.

Nolan wrecked both defenses.

we are next.
He inherited a DEF that was average at best and was so one dimensional that other teams could do what they wanted (see comments from Sam Darnold in 2019) Both Mikes realised this had to change and a DEF for modern times developed. The idea of a hybrid DEF made sense and the change would be made over a couple of years. What they have not anticipated is how bad the playing staff are, maybe a full off season would have shown this?. If we can see it as fans they certainly can as professionals. At the moment they have little chance to do anything about this. If it was up to them maybe they would bring in players like Thomas and Harrison, but the front office does not want this.

We are playing a weird hybrid of it. Aldon is standing on one side while Griffin has his hand in the dirt. Nolan does not want a 4/3 defense but we have 4/3 players.

I think this 3-4 talk is very overblown. This is a 4-3 base defense. It has some 3-4 types of looks, but all the concepts are 4-3. The only real difference is either our ends going from stand up to hand in the ground.

The new scheme excuse is just that. Other teams have changed schemes with a short offseason, and are doing just fine.
