Byron Jones is a building block we need

There is so much comedy it took some time to write it all down. In ONLY half of one thread this was all the dumb things you said that now look utterly laughable. And most of these you said multiple times. Lets also keep in mind that you started a thread talking about how Jimmy Johnson basically echoed your exact thoughts on the subject:

-I agree with Jimmy that Dalton is a perfect fit for Dallas and shouldn't miss a beat (A statue like Dalton that crumbles under pressure is the worst guy for this team right now)

-"Dalton Efficiency" will make our offense better and IMPROVE THE DEFENSE (How did that defense and offense look last night genius?)

-Dalton is a more skilled passer than Dak (You don't belong in a football conversation)

-Dalton will come in and replace Dak no problem (Could you look any worse?)

-I think we will be a better football team with Dalton then we are with Dak (You don't belong in a football conversation)

-Let mediocre guys like Dak walk so we can give ourselves a chance at a SB (Yet today you freely admit that no QB can win anything with this defense)

-Dak isn't a difference maker (Dak broke the record for passing yards through the first 4 games and lead the Cowboys offense to 37 points per game)

-Dak cant overcome obstacles (Despite Zeke fumbles, bad Oline play, horrible coaching, and bad special teams we were in EVERY game with Dak and he still put up record numbers and lead us to 37 points per game)

-Others carry Dak (Who exactly is carrying Dak ? Dak has carried the entire team on his back

-Dak doenst carry others (Wilson, Lamb, Cooper, Shultz, Zeke, Oline, all looked better under Dak)

-Dak and Dalton are the same type of player, Dak is a little better but not much (You don't belong in any QB conversation)

-Dak is just along for the ride

-Nothing special about Dak where he isn't replaceable with a guy like Dalton (There are many, but this now is clearly the dumbest thing you said)

We all laughed in your face when you said it, and were really laughing now. You have ZERO credibility left if you ever had any. Dak absolutely blows away Dalton and its not even close.

There are several plays in any modern players history that you can say this about. I watched every game he played in Dallas. While I believe that almost all players in todays game are average to poor tacklers, I don't see him as worse then what we have or had.

I agree he’s definitely not any worse. But my goodness that guy got 18 million a year. We’d be crying about Jaylon, Tank, and Jones all being so overpaid. All 3 are pretty average players. We value our own a little too much.

NE, Pitts, Seattle, GB, Baltimore and most all of the other teams that are in the hunt every year understand this and put their cap dollars into the OL and defense.

N.E. needs to be scratched from this list, since TB12 left. But what is the common denominator with these teams you mentioned? All of these teams have elite QB play, where as the Cowboys do not, nor have they for a long time.

I can understand them thinking Zeke couldn’t be let go, but paying Jaylon over Byron was most likely a mistake.

For me, they should have paid Jones and Dak (earlier), instead of J. Smith and Elliott.

I was okay with them bringing Cooper back. Obviously, no one knew Lamb would be available, Wilson and Brown remained question marks, and they needed to replace Cobb.

They took a chance with Lawrence, and obviously overpaid...but I don't question his heart and effort like with players such as Smith and Elliott. To me, Lawrence is a more talented version of another Boise St. player...T. Crawford. Versatile, try hard guys that each had a solid season, and were overpaid.

Jones is a versatile, intelligent, uber athletic player, at a premium position. He's also a high character individual that never complained, even when being miscast by coaches. And while he didn't produce the turnovers some dinged him for...he was rarely beat for a TD and was targeted less often given his coverage ability.

We are not dancing. We just told you and others what it was going to be. An absolute train wreck with Dalton in there. And it was. I was hoping the cowboys won, but the realist in me bet on the cardinals moneyline and they were the underdog. Your Dak hate has blinded you to the point of no return. Just watch football and don't look at the numbers. I was a huge advocate for jourdan lewis and guess what, I was wrong. I owned it like an adult and moved on.

If Dalton plays poorly this year then it will be my misevaluation of him as a player...

I know exactly what Dak is as a player.. He's a good solid QB.. I've always said he is a good solid QB.. For someone that hates Dak I sure do say he's a good solid player a lot...

I just don't see him as a difference maker at his position and I don't see him as a special player..

To me Dak is a Kirk Cousins, Teddy Bridgewater, that kind of player. He doesn't have huge impacts on the outcomes of games.

Dak provides a high floor as a player but when we play good teams it's seems like if the other team scores 17 we will score 14... If the other teams scores 35 we will score 32 and there will always be some kind of built in excuse as to why we didn't get the W.

I think we can do that with Dalton.. If everything goes perfect we will win with Dalton.. Just like we need to happen with Dak.

If Zeke doesn't give up 14 points off turnovers to start the game and we hold Kyler to 9 completions I think we possibly see a different game but maybe i'm reaching.

Our views definitely differ. Dak is a top 10 qb. Those aren't as easy to aquire as you may think. If he had an average defense we would be dominant
