They didn't let Le'Veon walk. He chose to walk away from a contract that would have been the largest for his position, ever. AB went crazy, that's entirely different.I've tried to make this point with @Future, but I'm not getting through. That's ok.
You can't let the inmates run the asylum. In Pittsburgh, they let Leveon Bell and Antonio Brown walk rather than having their team turn into a crazy-player-driven mess. Jerry has done the opposite with Zeke and Lawrence.
You see the results of the different philosophies on the field today.
They could not afford to let Zeke sit because it would have meant forfeiting the season, you can't send that message. DLaw got market value, you can't let him go, because he's your best defensive player. It's not like he signed early.
By your logic, they will never have any good players on a second contract.
