Mike Fisher for SI talks about McCarthy's future in Dallas.

At this point I think Big Mike needs to call the plays. He needs to get to the bottom of the problems.

At least on offense which now exceeds the defense in being disconnected with Dak gone.

Hopefully
I think if Moore is put aside it will happen in the Bye Week.

I predicted at the beginning of the year that if for any reason things were not going well..

McCarthy would have to make a change and take over the headset and call plays.

I think Dalton needs that if he is going to succeed. The HC needs to firmly take control. Not doing so shows that McCarthy is not serious about what is going on.

MM does not need to call the plays. One of the biggest criticisms of him in GB was that his offense and play calling had become stale and outdated. Much like Moore, he has no ideal how to call plays that gets the running game going.

If the season gets uglier, then yes maybe. Especially with the talent on this team and not performing.

I don't see it happening, but if 2021 got off to a slow start it could very well lead to an early exit.

I like it, the bye week becomes the BYE week

No he is not one and done. The O-line being decimated, Dak going down and COVID restrictions were a tall mountain to over come. Big Mike did nail the draft and I think he will again. He will build a contender.

Highly unlikely. With the pandemic, no preseason, a new scheme and injuries, He'll get at least another year to try and put it all together.

This is ugly and it's very possible; but we have to remember McCarthy is trying to instill a culture change and 90 percent of this roster is composed of Garrett and Marinelli guys.

If the Cowboys rebound and end up with seven or eight wins I say McCarthy is safe. A 4-12 or worse finish could see him go one and done.

He better not be. I'm not an MM fan at all, but Jerry kept letting Garrett slide and made excuse after excuse to keep him around for 10 damn years. Why suddenly put your foot down and get rid of MM after 1 lousy year? Yea, life isn't fair, but it would be a load of crap to fire MM after 1 season after all the crap Jerry made us tolerate with Garrett.

Maybe Moore is some kind of offensive genius... But, if that is true it is at drawing up the plays. Not necessarily choosing the correct time to call them.
I mean he should know when, since you typically create plays for certain situations. But, who knows...

I doubt Jerry will trash MM after this season.

First you have the crappy switch-over during a pandemic. Then you have the fact that even Jerry knows these players aren't doing their jobs. While also having your QB out for the season.
With the plethora of excuses available, I am pretty sure he gets a pass from Jerry this season.

Jerry better realize he is 78 years old. If he ever wants to see another Super Bowl before he dies... he better swallow some pride, and start talking to the right people.

With the way Jerry craves attention, loves to be a main focal point with the Cowboys... You would think he would be wanting all that publicity that comes form winning a Super Bowl.
Not sure why he can't just stick a new GM in, etc... He would still have his face everywhere, thus still be getting credit for it.

This whole organization makes no sense... They are just a laughing point in most coversations.

Nope, not gonna happen because Dak got hurt.

Losing your starting QB pretty much gives MM a pass for this year.

Yes. Jerry will lose some money i'm guessing. That's the way it goes when you make these foolish decisions. Jerry has to get a HC who seems to command it all, Jerry should enjoy his power in the backround. If Jerry wants the limelight that will restrict the HC hiring process just like it happened with MM and many before him. Go get a bull and Jerry should slowly slip slide away.

Given the type of coaches Jerry hires, would it even matter?

If he's let go, once again folks will indulge in fantasy coaches until Uncle Jerry gives them the next Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett, or Barry Switzer.

The one time Jerry backed off was when he was busy lobbying for a new stadium and let Bill Parcells run the show. Parcells didn't really win as much as we would have liked; but his personnel decisions laid the groundwork for some pretty good teams from 2003-09. Romo, Witten, Barber, Ware, Ratliff, Newman, Bradie James, etc..

Mike McCarthy may not be the problem; in fact he's probably ruing coming here right now.

...we got MM for at least 3 yrs. Only fair, with everything going on. Covid, Dak gone, injuries and basically tweaking nuts N bolts.
