If Dak and Jerry stumble again next year and cannot agree to terms, just let Dak seek a trade and draft your next QB. Do not franchise him again. I’m tired of hearing about Dak’s contract!

We've won maybe one game against a team with a winning record in the last three years. All it does is stop us from getting a better draft pick.

Because they keep missing on draft picks but if you have a QB you have a shot to win any game and if you do not have one you are one of those teams who spend up to a decade trying to find one and are not relevant until they do.

Draft position is nice but at the end of the day you need to hit on those picks AND you need to find a QB and without both you cannot win and if there is one thing I learned it is that if your team knows how to draft you do not need to be drafting top 10 to find pro bowl players.

Suggesting paying dak this kind of money is very silly .
dak would have had the same result with this OL and defense. Dak would have fumbled or thrown picks as well. Dak cannot make a difference as we have seen before. This team's issues are not QB. it is much much deeper than this. Actually the cowboys cannot afford paying a QB anything more than 25 mil as they need to fix and trade and pay for at least 7 new players. The math is not there if the cowboys want to win. If they just want to sell tickets and satisfy the media , then pay dak .

What were we with Dak?

Competitive.

Without Dak, D3 Western Omaha would be a 10 point favorite against us. Which do you prefer?

If we're gonna lose might as well lose them all and get a good draft number. It's obvious the players have no heart so

Ya, but we're not winning. You seem to forget that.

Here is the problem guys, with Dak we were the number one scoring offense in the entire NFL. The problem is that we also had the worst scoring defense in the SuperBowl era.

So what was the result? We would lose games 38-35.

Now that Dak is gone, so is the number one scoring offense. Problem is we still have that worst scoring defense in modern NFL history. So we still have a horrific defense just like we did with Dak, but now our offense is gone is as well.

So what is the result? Blowouts, and lots of them.

They were winning though. They were not making the playoffs, for a litany of reasons that start with a bad defense as they still have not won a game where they have not scored 30 since 2018, but when you are rebuilding you don't throw the baby out with the bath water: identify what and who is good and what and who is bad and focus the changes solely on that. Dallas has a top tier QB and considering moving on and playing QB roulette for the next 6-9 years on average on the hopes that MAYBE they get a guy close to as good seems rather crazy to me

Who gives a crap about being competitive other than the media or dysfunctional franchise stakeholders? Cowboys hoping for NFC championships or SB's should see that the only pathway is sucking really bad. For years. Then maybe, just maybe, we see some front office changes and coaching hires that actually make this team an authentic contender.

Being competitive is all Jerry expects and needs. That mindset has infected lots of fans over the years. Culture of mediocrity.

Yeah so what's a better option is pay him a crap ton and then trot out basically the same team that has done squat for the last 3 seasons and watch us go 8-8ish for the next 4-5 years.

Listen If the cowboys can somehow get Lawrence. Yes u gotta take him.

that being said. The chance any other QB drafted will be anywhere close to as good as Dak is pretty slim.

so you’re looking at worse QB play. Does the cap savings make up for that difference? I don’t have much confidence to be honest.

Not sure what you have been smoking or drinking but maybe lay off for a bit. This team is 10-13 in the last two seasons and 20-19 the last three. I get what you are trying to say but let's be honest, Dak is just another Romo. Gonna waste a career with a >--< organization.

Reality is we won’t get low enough to get Lawrence and Prescott will be back. With a flawed team and Nolan still running the defense.

Again we see what they are without Dak and that is that this team is maybe a 3-13 team without Dak for a year but a 7-8 win team with him even as much of a mess as it is and I am being optimistic on the 3-13 because they could finish that right even with Dak spotting them 2 of the wins.

Could you imagine if the Rams were like "we did not make the playoffs so lets cut Donald"? That does not happen because common sense prevails and teams build around their franchise players. Step 1 to winning for this team is to trade that high draft pick and find some franchise players on defense.
