yep, remember in 18 when Smith was out and Dak looked scared. Let him play behind a no name line and he would be terrified. Short term memory.

No one remembers that because that was 2017 not 2018.. and guys are allowed to improve as their careers move on are they not? Dak was not prepared to carry this offense without Zeke in 2017.. He was in the middle of his second season and the offense had been built with Zeke as the focal point at that time. For better or for worse that is no longer the case. We can argue till the cows come home whether it's the right move but this offense now revolves around Dak. And the results have been pretty damn good over the last year plus. Unfortunately Jerry has not seen fit to address the holes in the defense with the same fervor he has gone after on offense. This defense lacks playmakers. period.. Until that changes the results won't either.

...I thought he was much better, then how's he played. I know he signed as backup, but dang he's been awful.

I know the OL is makeshift, but nonetheless he's had time to make throws and just plunders.

...the curse continues to haunt us.

Do you watch the games? I mean seriously?
There isn’t a QB on the planet that would produce in this scenario, there is zero protection from the o-line.
He’s failed a few throws but I think that comes from being a human piniatta during the game.

Save yourself this thread and next week you can substitute Daltons name for Dinucci or try understanding the game.

I guess no one remembers last year either do they? They got beaten by the Jets, remember them.
Oh and how about the humiliation at the hands of the Bills.
Better yet, the win and you’re in the postseason game against a severely depleted Eagles squad that was fielding players who were literally off the street.
Oh and by the way can you guess who the QB was for those games?
Everyone blamed JG for the troubles even though our o-line was solid.

This team was rotting from within last year and only a few games where they played to their potential masked the smell.

Dalton was never great, he was just good at best. However, this Offensive line... it’s making everything flash before my eyes. I think I saw God at one point during the game. Or maybe that was just the alcohol. Not sure. Either way...this offensive line is like when you wanted to go out to eat when you were younger but ya momma said “we got food at the house”

LMAOOOO!!!!!!!

He’s better than Dak according to some people here.
No.... He's better than wasting $40M on a non elite level QB. That money with this defense, and o line is wasted.

We need a QB of the future, and a way better defense before thinking about a QB. The best QB won't deliver with this team, and Dak hasnt either.

He just got hurt and don't you think this is the wrong time for insulting his play? That's just what the Dak lover said too. What's good for the goose is good for the gander

I think any qb needs playing time and multiple years learning the system...Romo sat the bench for 5 years that’s not normal. Dak and Aikmen started right away, but coming out of college playing with no big gaps. This is a new system to Dalton new coaches...no one expects him to play well after today.

Anyone who watches football knew Dalton was terrible. It is only the usual delusional Dallas fans with low football IQ who thought Dalton would be equal or an upgrade to Dak.

A bit of context needs to be considered.

Dalton came in vs the Giants and looked very good. The argument will be they hadn't prepared to face him etc. Fair point but they also do not have a formidable front seven or elite pass rusher or scary play makers in the secondary. Plus Zack Martin played in this game.

Cardinals are a good team and could be a very good team in the best division in the NFL. They arguably have the best play maker in the secondary in the league. Cardinals subsequently picked off Russell Wilson three times who was/is probably leading the race for regular season MVP.

Cowboys then faced an excellent front seven last night without Smith, Martin and Collins with Frederick having retired. Four of the starting five offensive lineman did not play. Add in two regulation catches dropped by a top 20 WR draft pick costing 14 points...what more did people expect from Dalton? He doesn't have the wheels of a Kyler Murray. He needs some form of fairly consistent pass protection.

I'm not claiming that Dalton has played well, even with the joke o line and the new stud receiver dropping easy catches for touchdowns, he has played below the level that I had expected from him.

But people need to get real if they think we would have won the last two games with Prescott. It's laughable. Whilst he would have done better than Dalton as he's more mobile in the pocket there's only so much a QB can do without time to consistently throw the ball. Do not forget how the offense looked versus the Falcons until they lost their pass rusher and other stud player on defense through injuries. The Browns have been giving up 32 points a game and this offense only put up 17 points versus the Rams with Smith and Martin both playing. The o-line is horrific. It is unable to pass protect or run block...it's not a recipe for success!

This was always going to happen given the ageing offensive line.

Did anybody know he was this bad? I'd say, yes, the Bengals and all their fans knew what he was.

He's not this bad. The OLine has 4 of 5 starters injured and then a backup also injured. Not much a QB can do with an Oline so screwed up. Dalton isn't good but hes a good back up option.

Are you talking about Dak's personal stats or W's in the win column? Sure, Dak is lighting the world on fire with his stats, but they're not translating over to wins near enough.

When did personal stat padding become more important than winning? I would gladly trade 450 yards passing in a loss for 200 yards and a win. That's what they had in the Aikman years and no one complained at all.

Many of us tried to tell the board what would happen with Dalton and this bad Oline. Having a little time here and there isnt really having time. This Oline has been as bad as it gets.

Not really Dalton's fault, the Cowboys have scab players for o-linemen.

Dalton is our 4th or 5th problem at best right now.

He is getting no blocking, no defense, and players turning the ball over and dropping passes.

Dalton has proven in this league he can win. The guys around him are just terrible and he's not good enough to overcome it.
