Unfortunately, the only GM foolish enough to give a first round pick for a WR is in Dallas.
If the Ravens lose to the Steelers. The pressure wil be on. A first round pick is a second round pick for them. They want a Super Bowl.

I’m not opposed to trading Gallup either. Season is toast and we need an influx of talent. The one area that we are absolutely blessed with an abundance of rare talent is at WR. If an appropriate trade could be pulled off then pull the trigger.

The question is, what is the minimal offer that we take for Gallup?
Late first high second for me.

If we cant get a first, I wouldnt take an offer

I think trading Michael Gallup for a first round pick is a realistic trade idea. The Ravens are all in on a Super Bowl run and they are so desperate for a big play wide receiver, they put Dez on their practice squad. I got sick to my stomach this morning when some former Jet GM says the Cowboys should trade draft picks for Tribisky or Fitzpatrick. Yuck!!!!!

Do you guys have any other ideas?

You want a late first round pick for Gallup? Possibly the 32nd pick overall. I wouldn't do it. I'd rather own off one of our TEs.

The only position we have a surplus is wide receiver. Who would want our tight ends? Be realistic.

This, if for late first I would also try for a late pick also like a 5th too. If 2nd I would def. ask for a 5th round also.
The Bills got Diggs and a 7th for a 1st, 5th and 6th in 2020. And a 4th in 2021

Gallup isnt quite as good as Diggs, but given what Buffalo gave up for him Gallup should still be worth a 1st

That's pretty much the same time Cooper will be off the team. I don't want to ruin one side of the ball trying to fix the other.
We cant say that Cooper will be gone. Cutting him isnt the only option. He will be willing to renegotiate his contract to get more guaranteed at that point. Doing that will bring his per year average down. At that point Cooper will likely be cheaper than Gallup

Cooper is better.

Cooper will also have a more manageable contract in a year too.
Exactly. Coopers AAV will likey come way down after his guaranteed portion is up and his contract is renegotiated

I just said I wouldn't do it, not that it doesn't make any sense. Keep in mind that we'll probably lose Cooper after next season. Then it's just Lamb and leftovers. Which isn't terrible. But what are we doing? This team's problems on defense goes beyond poor talent. Fix that first before we make trades. Our else they'll be useless.

The current Cap Numbers for Cooper:
  • 2020: $12 million
  • 2021 - 2024: $22 million

Unless we can get Cooper's cap numbers well below $20 million a year, I think I rather have Gallup at the $12-$15 million range. Cooper is better, but I don't think he is 35+% better than Gallup.
