is it disappointing the season could be over already sure, but I don't get most of you.
a whole bunch of you wanted this or was fine if this happened. most of you wanted the last staff gone at all cost even if it meant they would struggle a couple years(so you said) so many was praising this hire and even proclaiming it night and day difference from the first press conference. so many praised the free agent moves and the change in philosophy on defense, Poe,McCoy,Haha was the saviors.
some here had questions about all 3 of those additions bit it fell on deaf ears. why are so many standing on the ledge now, it's what you wanted and praised.

LOL, is this a passive aggressive attempt at propping up Garrett?

People were right to want Garrett gone. He had nearly a decade and did nothing. What people hoped for was Jerry would hire a better staff in their place. As of right now, especially when it comes to certain assistants, it does not appear Jerry did that.

I love it.

I'd rather be this then be mediocre.

Burn the forest down and watch it grow back stronger. These losers proved they couldn't win and they rewarded them with big contracts.

You reward failure then players will know thats the standard.

1 playoff win in the last 4 years and we're paying everyone and treating them like rock stars.

Garrett won 2 playoff games in 10 years.....anyone who thought he did not deserve to get fired should ask Jerry if he is hiring!

Well, I don't mind standing up and saying
1) Yes, i wanted the old staff gone. Their performance should have had them gone at least 4 years earlier.
2) Yes, i wanted to try to plug some holes on defense with bigger bodies. They seemed like good FA pickups. I never said they were saviors.
3) There are questions about every personnel move. Its hard to find a perfect player especially when you are shopping on a budget.
4) I asked for better schemes but most of all I have always asked for schemes tailored to the personnel you have.

Has it worked out thus far? Absolutely not but I'm not standing on a ledge. But i do think it may expose some more hidden issues that may be beneficial in the long run. Either way, its better than just doing the same old thing that has never worked.

In my defense, I didn’t want McCarthy as HC. I wanted someone from the college leagues, or someone with a good defensive mind. When Jason Garrett was fired, McCarthy wasn’t really in my mind as our next HC...

The McCarthy hire was a lazy hire but we all know the Jones's don't value coaching just like @Dre11 .

Well, in the famous words of a proud and brave marine, Gomer Pyle, ''SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE"...... we all never knew this would go into the dumper as quickly as it did. And the elevator hasn't gotten to the bottom floor yet, much less the garage parking, the basement and the tornado shelter. We are just fans, if we knew what we were doing we'd be working in some FO somewhere, who actually knows what they are doing. Excuuuuuuuuuse Meee.......

Non sequitar. Just because the change didn't work out, it does not follow that it wasn't needed. This org needed revamping badly.

What you're missing is that this change was not going to be instant.

lol.....you're so infatuated with Garrett that its comical, this has nothing to do with Garrett, if anything it's more about the free agents and defensive failure. Get Garrett put of your head..lol Jerry may have definitely hired the right staff, it's the personnel and philosophy on signing players.

Apparently, it's a pathetic attempt at a 'told ya so' from a guy whose credibility left town when Garrett did.

:lmao:

I notice no mention of the fact that Garrett's offense is in the toilet in New York and scoring the second fewest points per game in the league.

He's proven he's not fit to even be a coordinator.

He's not 'missing it', he's willfully ignoring it. It's kinda his thing...

You started the thread mentioning the last staff which you pom pom'd over all the time last year.

Garrett sucks.

You're right, spend some money on "good" players and your grandmother can coach

Of course anyone with half a brain knows this is false. In other words, there is zero chance Dave Campo wins 6 Super Bowls if he had been the HC in New England instead of Belichick. Any person who thinks coaching is fungible and basically the same across the board should not be taken seriously.

It's actually ironic because I think you are or were a coach and with this one post, you basically just called your own profession un-important and a job any fool can perform.

I'm not disappointed. I felt a change was needed. I acknowledged there was a risk the team could get worse but it was necessary for the opportunity to get better. That said, I haven't given up on MM. The benefit of having a terrible season is getting good draft position. Used wisely, it could catapult the team like in 2016 because we are a better team than this injury riddled team's record will show. If we have a terrible 2021 season then I'll start looking for MM to be on a short leash.
