Way to go CC....absolutely right., saves us a lot on therapy bills too.
Depends how you do it. We got people here the root for injuries bash bash bash. Our best players. THAT...is NOT what we SHOULD do.
If you wanna say zeke fumbles...fine. He does. And it's stupid. He needs to hold that rock like his tattoo.
But to bash him as not being a rushing champion "because he has too many carries"...is STUPID...and NOT a fan.
That's not about this team or any team being family, it is about you and me. Our team that we choose to root for is like family to us.
And sometimes we can get crossways with family or feel they're letting us down but they are still family.
I see too many posts calling out other posters about their fanhood completely based on our own interpretation of how a fan should be, how they should feel and how they should support their team. That works for ourselves but we need to remove the filter of ourselves to understand how others might feel.
Our own definition of a fan works for us but that doesn't necessarily apply to others. As odd as it may seem to some that others want the team to lose in the hopes of getting better, that does not make them less of a fan.
Think of that as a family member that is in trouble and in need of help but they have to hit rock bottom and realize they need help before they can accept it.
If you still have hope for this season, good for you. If you do not and have already begun to think about the future, good for you.
We can debate with others, even argue with them but the one thing we should not do is question their loyalty to the family.
There is no connection or degree of fanhood just because a poster is optimistic and positive. That is merely a choice. If someone has lost hope, they shouldn't get hammered for it. And their level of fanhood should not be questioned.
Uh-hu...I get you. Basically you're saying people will be people...just roll the eyes and move on for some of them.I don't have a problem with that. You can be a fan of the Cowboys but not a fan of a particular player. I have learned than none of us are shy when it comes to responding to a post we think is off base. As long as everyone keeps it friendly I don't mind even the absurd commentary. It's not just Cowboys fans either. I listen to sports talk on the radio in my car and the stuff people come up with about their teams is sometimes truly bizarre.

There was no doubt in my mind that Rocky wouldn't get this post, and would file a hate filled snarky comment completely out of place here. There’s posters on here that I would never ever consider family. They know who they are and they can kiss my family ***.
Snarky? I thought it was blunt and to the point. There was no doubt in my mind that Rocky wouldn't get this post, and would file a hate filled snarky comment completely out of place here.
I did forget to mention...sounds like you are okay with bashing zeke for not being a rushing champion because "he had more carries"?
That's great and very accommodating of you.
Except (some of) these same people....give Dak credit for his injured win "because that's the way the NFL counts it".
So for Zeke they aren't going to "count it like NFL counts it" but for Dak they are.
Sorry folks...Imma call that crap out EVERY SINGLE TIME. If bashin and hatin is your thing and makes you feel better about yourself...at least TRY to use consistent reason and logic.
Coach, got to turn to tough love sometimes. The point is you do not stop loving them but you don't have to like them.Don't agree. Family should be loyal, not quit on each other. My opinion is that if you turn your back on your Family, you're not worth a darn.
Dak is proven, these kids are not. Dak is a Cowboy, these kids are not, will not be. Just saying.Coach, got to turn to tough love sometimes. The point is you do not stop loving them but you don't have to like them.
As a fan, I must admit my team is not good, barely mediocre. What will it take for them to get good? The simple answer will not happen, management isn't changing. So the next best thing I can come up with is get management some help even they can't screw up, although I have reservations about that as well.
All depends on who you give credit to for whatever success the Cowboys had with Romo at QB. I believe he had to overcome them and put most of that on himself and become more of his own coach. He sounds more like an ex coach than player doing the games.
I believe the Cowboys need that guy again and while Prescott is close to that guy, I think Lawrence or Fields are more that guy.
You misunderstood what I said. I do not agree Zeke is not a rushing champion. He had the most yards. That's how they define it.
Unless those family members turn their backs on themselves with poor choices which define their lives not the family and support they come from.Don't agree. Family should be loyal, not quit on each other. My opinion is that if you turn your back on your Family, you're not worth a darn.
The patriarch of the family ambitions and agendas differ from the family of fans. The team may be family ... but Jerry needs to be put to pasture.
I've never turned my back on family or friends. I understand tough love, but I'm always there.Unless those family members turn their backs on themselves with poor choices which define their lives not the family and support they come from.
Cant help a loved one who want help themselves. You can always be there if they make better choices but can’t let them take down the entire family.
Tough love as Coach speaks of.
I am not sure how he is proven except by his absence this season. I think he's a good QB but at the same time I think this franchise needs an exceptional QB to overcome their own problems at team building.Dak is proven, these kids are not. Dak is a Cowboy, these kids are not, will not be. Just saying.
I do not see it as "turning my back" but wanting what I think is best for them.I've never turned my back on family or friends. I understand tough love, but I'm always there.
Yea but at some point you must only stand there if they refuse to make better choices. They turn their back on us not us them.I've never turned my back on family or friends. I understand tough love, but I'm always there.
Groundhog Day.. good analogy .I do not see it as "turning my back" but wanting what I think is best for them.
If this wasn't such a poorly managed team from the talent side and my thinking that they need help in the form of exceptional talent, I might not feel the same.
At what point do we realize we're in Groundhog Day as fans and we need some rather unconventional thinking to move on? How long have we been having these same discussions?
