What is wrong with tanking?

I knew you couldn't cut the cord.
It's so cool that I'm never diametrically opposed to you, but you get all hot and bothered with me.
This is a gorgeous relationship.

no! it would be an emotionally abusive relationship!

You could tell him to walk away, you know.
Protect the poor lad before I irrevocably alter his sensibilities and he never realizes it!

Well, alrighty then.....tanking is okay as long as you're the one doing the tanking. But if someone tanks and steals a higher draft pick when you are clearly the worst team, then its not okay.

That about sums it up right?

You know what happens now? The NFL adopts a lottery like the NBA and NHL which doesn't always ensure the worst team is the first. When you only have 5 players on the court playing both offense and defense, one player can make all the difference. That's not true in the NFL. And tanking doesn't always work. Ask Portland who finished with the worst record four years in a row, won one #1, and traded for a second one.

If you want to tank, go ahead, but you better hope nobody out-tanks you.....

No ones saying quit. Throw in Denucci. Get the young guys some time. Are you really this dense? lol Doesn't make you a loser. It's called the greater good. While some are still celebrating those crap wins from 2010 that amounted to absolutely nothing. That's the problem. If this team wasn't stupid they'd be in better position a long time ago. And we wouldn't have to be talking about tanking. The problem here is there are a lot of holes to fill and a stupid front office. They'll never win that way!
You're exactly saying quit who the **** do you think you're kidding.

it's a strategic move and you are the loser for insulting army vet.
It's a loser move and as a Marine we always insult the Army dogs just as they always insult us. It's the game we play over beers. You wouldn't understand obviously.

No fan should want to tank...although when you have an owner and son who are clueless, refuse to admit the weak spots on the team (or praise the weak spots repeatedly), and generally show indifference to winning or losing during a season when you sit 2-7, it's hard not to look ahead to the draft.
