Yesterday’s loss hurt really bad for many, we had everything setup, we’re picked to win, national stage....and got embarrassed
Many young fans are going to remember screaming at the tv and have a negative view...we’re losing a generation of cowboys fans here.
What’s next? Hope for losses? Hope for competitive games? Hope for wins? Feels like we have 5 games that can’t end soon enough.
luckily my kids are 6 4 and 4 months so they can be swayed by jerseys and good food....but for those of you with kids in the 10s to teens what are you doing to keep them engaged?
what’s next? As fans do we give up on this year and look to next) is there even a next to be excited about or are we too far out.
It took me many years to get my son to become a fan. He hadn't had the experience of spending his early years with me, since his mother and I were divorced during some of his formative years. He moved in with me at age 18 and watched them only upon occasion.
Now, he's a full-grown man and all and we spend most Sundays together watching the Cowboys games. He's still not nearly the fan that I am but he's gradually getting more into them, as his favorite team to watch, even though they lose more than some can readily tolerate.
If your young kids value your company and like watching TV, they should gradually get used to seeing enough of the C'boys that they'll quite possibly get used to seeing enough of them to gradually like watching them with their dad, i.e., yourself. If they see you getting angry and frustrated, they'll may see fit to take it as their clue to either do the same or avoid watching them lose altogether. Kids are funny that way. If you avoid demonstrations of anger, they'll likely enjoy it more. At least that's been my experience, through the years with my son.
