i just simply haven't watched enough byu games to have a real gut feel on the kid to be honest.
people are high on him tho.

Never seen Wilson play live.

His highlights look good though. Good athleticism. Quick release, strong arm.

The physical tools seem apparent. I just don’t know anything about his command of an offense, his ability to read defenses, or how he plays under high pressure situations, having never seen him live.

I like Wilson a ton. I finally saw him live against CC. He did everything to win the game at the end. If JJ stays the course with Dak, the trade down should bring a haul. The QB hungry teams will be looking to get into the top 5.
I would be fine with drafting this kid.

Manziel was barely 6’0.. Wilson is 6’3.

If we draft a QB it better be him (assuming Fields and Lawrence are gone). If not we better trade down with the team that wants to draft him. If we are able to get an additional 1st next year that would go an extremely long way to building our team long-term.

Now we get some Russell Wilson.

His feet are just great. His feet do remind me of Mahomes. He's just so agile.

Imagine passing on him for a defender and he turns out to be anything like the guys he compares too lol.

We would look like the Chicago Bears drafting Trubisky and passing on Mahomes.

I think he's the clear cut challenger to Fields as the #2 QB. I don't see a real hole in his game other than his competition.

In general I don't like to knock a players individual talent because of his opponents talent.

It's early days but if we don't get Dak signed before the draft then I think a QB with Aaron Rodgers / Pat Mahomes playstyle needs to be considered. He's obviously not my first option and i'm not sure if he's my 2nd option yet but i'm getting there.


Here is some 2020 highlights that kind of shows the Macro of what he can do.. When evaluating him though you have to really look at what he can't do because he checks a lot of boxes.

He has the athleticism to be one of those pesky guys that is just really annoying to play against because he can get you out of bad plays with his feet.

Catch they aren’t taking a QB early. They are going to do the same thing they did in 2016 when they had the 4th pick and took Zeke. They thought we were set at QB. Lucky for them Wade Wilson stepped on the table for Dak.

When they get to the NFL everything is much faster and that's when the wheels come off. QBs like Josh Rosen, had great highlights too. A lot of prospects do not make it in the NFL. I am not saying Wilson will not be a good NFL QB, I am saying there is a significant risk when drafting QBs.

You can say the same about Fields though.

I know he plays at tOSU it he is playing 7 on 7 football against inferior competition every week.


You gotta draft these guys on talent and how that talent translates first and foremost imo/

I don’t like knocking players because of their competition if they have all of the physical traits.. Especially rare traits like Wilson has.

0% chance he goes on a mission. If he did it, he would have around his freshman year.

For history’s sake, look at former BYU QB Robbie Bosch. Won the national championship and went back to school. Ended up being hurt and never panned out.

I've really avoided the Wilson hype train as much as possible, but it's impossible to watch this kid and not see "it." He has that undefinable quality. He just makes plays. He's got a good arm and a lighting fast release. His athleticism is underrated.

I dont think the Cowboys have any plans to go QB, but if they move on from Dak, I think this kid is a great consolation prize.
