This season is done, we will regroup in the offseason we will have the same thing over and over until Jerry learns or decides to stop being AL Davis the second and just be the Owner and GM, and do all the basic duties of those positions. He needs to get out of the locker room get out of the coaches way. As long as the players know that he is the is the one calling all of the shots, they are not giving the HC and staff their full attention. He has to make it known that the HC is in charge and the only way to get to him is through the HC, and that he fully backs whatever decision the HC makes.
Yes I kinda agree that we may need a new DC, definitely a new OC, the OC has been the issue for the past years from Scott Linehan whome Jerry hired to Kellen Moore who Jerry promoted. Nolan should not have scrapped the defense totally like he did knowing he has a complicated system.

He might not be good at all anymore, perhaps 2018 was a mirage.

However, I think he might be ok if you get him in a role where the play is always 100% in front of him. Pass rushing seems to be what he's excelled at from the LB position.

Maybe Randy White him and convert him from LB to End.

I agree with your overall point, which is Jerry is the problem and the team won’t improve until he’s gone . But don’t throw darts at Kellen Moore. The top four offensive linemen are injured and the teams most important player (QB) is on crutches. Kellen Moore isn’t hindering this team.

Nothing was more of a Jaylon play than early on when he made a tackle on 3rd at 14 after a 13 yard catch, and made the '4th down' gesture which he was celebrating. Ravens went for it on 4th down and scored a TD. It was so obvious that they would go for it there.

No football IQ!

We have to start drafting smart football players.

You're correct and missed my point. He can't play a reactive LB.

Don't ask him to react. Put the play in front of him. Have him as an attacking defensive player.

Do you remember Randy White? Cowboys drafted him high and he was a bust LB. Couldn't react at all. Physical monster but he wasn't even a starter.

Converted him to D Line and he became a Hall of Famer.

Can Smith do the same? Dunno, but it's worth a try. They spent the money, he can't do what they're asking him to do. So why not try something else?

He was consistently one of the best pass rushing LB's at Notre Dame. He has regularly said his first best skill is pass rush. Why can't he be converted to an attacking player rather than someone in a reactive role?

What's wrong with trying? Could he fail? Sure. But right now you're in a sunken cost with him and keeping him doing what he's doing is going to give you jack and s...

he has been bad, but at least he is making tackles. LVE had 5 tackles and looked lost all night. DLaw had 1 tackle last night, A. Woods had an assisted tackle. Aldon Smith and Gregory combined for 0 tackles last night. When your DL is a dumpster fire it is hard for me to say that a LB is the most embarrassing player on the team. At some point, we have to get our DL to make plays.

Neither is a stud. Both players had varying degrees of success in 2018, we all got excited for the swipe and howling wolf sounds and as fans we jumped the gun with proclamations. Among other things the defense needs an entire new LB corps.
