We won a game, and the tankers do not like it.
Tankers = not real fans
People who enable Jerry's mediocrity = Not real fans
I like Sewell as a prospect, but folks need to stop with the "generational talent" talk. Dane Brugler said he may not have even made his Top 3 OTs compared to the group that came out last year.
Dane Brugler also said that Mahomes was worth at most a 2nd round pick before the draft.

Exactly, Sewell is a sure thing not a boom or bust at a position of need. So, even if you don't want him you still want to be the team in position to draft him and field trade offers.

I would probably trade back. Really need defensive players. Or if Sewell was a possibility would have to see what defensive players teams would trade for Tyron.

Not to you of course. You’re always wishing for failure for players and the team.

No, it means little in the overall development of this team. It's a feel good story for like a day or two and then its on to the last three games where the reality is this team is not making the playoffs again.

Draft position is way more important than winning a couple of meaningless games down the stretch. Any sane, logical human can see this.

People who approve of tanking fail to understand the downstream consequences of that. Frankly, it screams “I never played organized team sports”.

What downstream consequences?

This team is likely going to see a major shake up anyway in the offseason given the cap situation, us having 10 draft picks, possibly a change at DC if you believe some of the reporting. So I doubt there are any long term effects from this team losing a couple more games down the stretch and finishing with a Top 5 pick.

Frankly, if losing a few more games down the stretch can help them get rid of Nolan, that's a plus as much as a Top 5 pick IMO.

It appears that in this draft, there are 3 top tier prospects and everyone else is a notch down. So, having that 3rd spot would have been much better in terms of trading down.

the fans want sewell , the FO while they can see the value at that selection, were NOT even considering it over say 5 other moves.. sure if they sat there at 4 and hes there and no one else seems to fit..there so much time for Combine, visits, and draft before they even have idea who are targets..why because there like 5 games left people..ugh..

ill say this again they were not even considering sewell at the is point

our starting OL will be back, our backups are very solid, and are 3rd stringers even looked solid. We have no need for OL at this point.

you worry about TS well LC kicks out to LT and we can fill RT pretty easily..OL is our deepest postion after this season we got to put these young guy's to ive interviews and they are pretty good..The OL coach looks to be the best weve had since Callahan and we do not need another high draft pick at OL when our defense needs like 6 new starters..

Good. Sewell or any OT does very little in helping us win a championship over the next 2-3 years. Dak is going to have to learn to win with the offensive guys we have so we can focus our best resources on building a defense that isn't a complete dumpsterfire.

Well you're not a player and obviously have never played a team sport so you have no clue how important winning is to players.

Who is enabling him, not me.
I am a fan, I ignore Jerry for the most part, as there is nothing I can do about it. So I do not let it consume my life.
If I let it make me hate everything that happens, time to find another team.

Sucks we won’t get Sewell. But I’ll happily take Parsons or a trade down as well.

Yes...Parsons is the guy I really want out of all of this. He is the best defensive prospect in the draft and would immediately improve our woeful run defense. Perhaps Parsons will help Jaylon and LVE get back to their old form.

LOL. One of the lamest rationalizations out there.

It doesn't change the point. In the grand scheme of things winning a game against a bad Cincy team in a season you will miss the playoffs doesn't mean anything. No, the players won't go into the offseason thinking better about themselves because he's we won a couple of games against bad teams down the stretch and finished 5-11 instead of 3-9.

I don’t think Dallas would have taken Sewell even if they had the 3rd pick. Too much invested in Tyron and Collins. Neither can be cut until 2023 without major cap implications and they’re 30 and 27 years old respectively. Only move would have been moving Collins to LG, but I don’t see that happening.

We’re taking a defender, likely a CB. Possibly a LB. Small chance of a DT.

Well you wouldn’t know.

I think anyone with a shred of common sense would know this. I bet if you asked players would they feel better about themselves if they went 5-11 as opposed to 3-13, very few would say yeah, that makes me feel better.

LOL.

He's a hot name now but a lot will change by draft day. I'm guessing he isn't their pick. Just a gut feel.

Pretty much what the Dallas draft guys are saying. They aren’t going OL

can you explain that to them? there are quite a few that i feel quite certain don't want to give the effort to be winners. just collect the checks and skate by.
