it does guarantee that you ain't gonna have the chance to take the players drafted before you are on the clock though. (without giving up a bunch to move up)All the season's record does is guarantee what number a team picks, not what player they end up drafting.

As long as they are trying to win, for where the team is this season I'm not sweating the outcome either way. If they win I get to sit through a more enjoyable game, but if they lose it helps draft position in what is likely a lost season. That’s right I want the best draft pick we can get. Sorry if you don’t agree. A fan since 1963.
That's where I am. Win first, but its very remote we do anything. As long as they are trying to win, for where the team is this season I'm not sweating the outcome either way. He is a REAL smart fan.You might of started being a fan in 1963 but at some point you stopped being a fan. A REAL fan NEVER wants their team to lose. Are you going to go in the corner and cry because the Cowboys will pick later now?

Well actually, the Bungles gave us that meaningless game with the 3 fumbles. But your right we lost out on a great player.Yep, we just played ourselves out of the best offensive lineman since Zack Martin and a clone of Tyron Smith (w/ possibly a higher ceiling than Tyron). That kid from Oregon has given up 1 sack in 1,400 snaps. Yes, ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED snaps & 1 sack a roo.
Why would you root to draft later on? A little meaningless satisfaction for a win today at the cost of drafting higher rated players in every round of the draft! These games mean nothing at this point other than draft positioning.
Some are rooting for higher draft position and others are rooting to draft later on.
Could have traded the pick to a team that does genius!Good. Don't need OT.
Unless you are a fan thinking about the future of your team.NEVER.APOLOGIZE.FOR.WINS
nope.Unless you are a fan thinking about the future of your team.
Hope Washington and Philly lose? Are you still hoping this team makes the playoffs? The Bungles went up and down the field vs the horrible defense!Who was the elite OT in last year's draft? NYG took OT Andrew Thomas and so far he absolutely stinks.
1) Joe Burrow is going to be good if he can stay healthy.
2) Chase Young - 24 Tackles and 4.5 sacks. Nothing earth-shattering there.
3) Ogudah - 41 Tackles, I INT, and 2 passes defensed.
5) Tua - Nothing special
6) Herbert - Looks pretty good. Can't get wins.
7) Derrick Brown - 14 Tackles, 0 sacks
8) Isaiah Simmons - 32 Tackles, 1 sack
9) C.J Henderson - 27 Tackles, I INT, 6 passes defensed
CeeDee Lamb is as good or better than any of the WRs (Ruggs and Jeudy) taken before him. Diggs looks as good or better than Ogudah. Haven't watched Ogudah much.
Other than Burrow, Young, and Herbert the other 6 players are doing nothing.
Yeah, while we like to have higher draft picks, we are not getting Lawrence or Fields. I don't think teams will be looking to trade for anyone other than Lawrence or Fields. Recent drafts have been just as good in the later part of the rounds as the top part of the rounds.
Enjoy the win and hope Wash and Philly lose.
nope.
if your a fan.
Okay, genius!nope.
if your a fan.
Another genius! These arguments are silly. You play to win. Period. There is nothing else that matters. Not playing to win sets a loser mentality.

They have their fingers in their ears. Your wasting your time. Its not that simple and you know it. You could still take defense at 3. But now you have the added draft capital to trade down if you can and pick up an extra 2nd rounder going from 3 to 8.

You want to pick 19th with all the needs this terrible defense has? I know your a fan, but try thinking about the future. It’s called delayed gratification.
Lose our last 3 and we pick #4. We need to pick at #4 in every round to help fix this defense.
Miami was 3-13 last year. This year they are fighting for a playoff spot. They had all kinds of draft capital, just like we will, this draft, if we pick at #4 or #5.No I root for my team to win their games and ACCEPT where they end up in the draft. Teams that go out and lose have a bad season that often times turns into 2 and then 3 and before you know it that losing has gone on for a decade. Why because the players start to think losing is the way of the team and all of the good players when their contracts are up will move on to other teams as fast as they can who don't have a culture that started by losing for a draft pick that ended up lasting longer than that year. Pretty soon there is a carousel of coaches and they turn into the 2003-2017 browns.

In the history of the NFL the team picking #4 in the draft has picked better players than the team picking #10. How do some fans not understand this.True but I do not proclaim who this team or any team in any sport will pick every year. Or how each drafted player's career will progress afterwards.
Wins and losses are completely outside fans' control. Same goes for the draft. I am not certain why anyone (not you of course) does not understand this reality.
