Pretty much what the Dallas draft guys are saying. They aren’t going OL
I meant Cincy even though they do need OL help. Sewell isn't getting the reviews you would expect if he were clearly a top 5 kind of player. That generally means that more and more folks will see the faults as they dig in. (i haven't watched any tape on him. just going by other people's review and experience watching these things progress)

No way to out-tank that Bengals team. They, JAX, and NYJ form a clear next tier of suck compared to where we are at.

And people can watch the same tape and come away with different opinions, the draft is no exact science, but to me Sewell absolutely looks like a one-in-10-years kind of tackle.

I think anyone with a shred of common sense would know this. I bet if you asked players would they feel better about themselves if they went 5-11 as opposed to 3-13, very few would say yeah, that makes me feel better.

LOL.
You're just too ignorant to get it. It's not about the record it's about gaining some confidence in not only themselves but the coaching staff going forward.

Who Karnack?
pretty much every vet on defense other than maybe Dlaw, RGregory and LVE. I'm not 100% sure about these guys but they do seem to put forth some effort to improve themselves.

surely you have seen all the issues with basic football this year. anyone not just going thru the motions doesn't make and continue to make those mistakes.

For the most part they are all giving their all. Their all just isn’t good enough.

i can only repeat my second sentence. I agree we lack the needed talent overall but as individuals many of them could have worked harder to maximize the talent they have.

The point is that a team's confidence isn't different heading into the 2021 season if they win a couple of games down the stretch or not, especially when it's a non-playoff year where you finish anywhere from 3-13 to 5-11.

It's no secret you often struggle with reality when it involves accepting things like this team isn't very good and it's better long term to lose down the stretch than win.

Trade down and don't be afraid to accept future picks in return. For example, trade Gallup and a 4th for a 1st in 2022 when there is a better chance to draft a generational defensive player in a stable draft.

Again you obviously don’t know and wouldn’t know.

It’s obvious you struggle with reality. But sure, believe the team’s confidence will be much higher for 2021 because we beat the lowly Bengals.

I saw somebody bring up on social media the other day the possibility that the Bengals could actually like Northwestern tackle Rashawn Slater better than Sewell. Or the possibility of Joe Burrow pushing for the Bengals to draft Ja'Marr Chase, his receiver from LSU. All I could do is laugh at those things. What I could see happening though, is a team offering the Bengals a king's ransom to move up and draft a quarterback. But I doubt they trade their pick.

Any player that gets that said about them before they've made a roster I'm staying as far away from as possible.

I heard a couple of people say that Sewell could be the modern day Tony Mandrich.

Playing to lose is pointless with a team like the Jets in the league.

If you aren't picking #1, you don't control anything. Dallas will have a good pick. Defense is a must.

You don't draft all defense when a BPA is offense.
You don't force filling positions.
Don't worry though. I'm sure we will get Parsons or Surtain.
We drafted ceedee lamb and yet the entire team took a step back. This isn’t the NBA. Drafting the best player available isn’t a viable strategy.

We going to trade down this year....probably trade down twice.
With all of these 'trade down' comments (on this thread and previous ones)....
A lot of fans assuming a 4th-5th-6th pick is assured for the Cowboys.
Other 4-9 teams -and their remaining schedules:
Chargers - @Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs
Panthers- @ Packers, @Football Team, Saints
Falcons- Buccanners, @Chiefs, @Buccaneers
Texans- @Colts, Bengals, Titans
Eagles- @Cardinals, @Cowboys, Football Team
I see two or three good candidates that could lose out and finish 4 -12.
Add to this list four other teams one game "back" (so to speak) at 5-8:
Giants- Browns, @Ravens, Cowboys
Lions- @Titans, Buccaneers, Vikings
49ers- @Cowboys, Cardinals, Seahawks (at Cardinals' stadium)
Broncos- Bills, @Chargers, Raiders
A couple of these teams could still have 5 wins when the season ends.
Trading down may not be an option for the Cowboys because they might be ALREADY DOWN .....9th pick or lower.

That sounds about right. Instead of getting elite talent, they should try to accumulate several average players. That will get them over the hump. I had rather see them draft one Deion Sanders type player than draft several Terrance Newmans.

Man if the Cowboys had the top 3 pick it better not have been Sewell. You don't get a chance to pick top 3 much and when you do you better not take a tackle when you have Collins here and Tyron Smith.

I get what you're saying but tyron is washed he hasn't started 16 games since 2015 and even when he starts he's hurt, and collins is an unknown with how secretive his injury was this year.

The tackle situation is complicated for sure. You have two high-dollar guys who can both play like studs, but their reliability is both very questionable.

Do you sink a top 5 pick into Rashawn Slater and basically bet on one of the two bowing out? I don't think it's a bad idea.

I understand what you're saying but Tyron is our starter for next year right? Collins is our right tackle? Where would Sewell even play next year? I don't need a stacked offensive line.
