The only way to vote yes with a clear conscience is knowing that Dak would accept a huge pay cut from the numbers that he has been rumored to be asking for. Paying elite money to average players is one reason why this team is in the losing situation that it is now.
That AND using him as backup QB where he belongs LOLOL.

Trick question again...what is the context?
40 mil contract?
Is it possible to get Lawrence?
If no on both above then definitely want Dak back.

At this point who cares, pay the man. We have almost zero legit options at qb right now.

Here’s where I currently stand.

yes.

However, the contract situation matters.

if they can agree on a reasonable contract with Dak. One that has reasonable cap flexibility. Then great and go for it.

If they cannot get a reasonable long term deal done. And he is on the franchise tag come draft time. Then I draft another QB. Given you can get either a Fields or Wilson.

I don’t go into another season with Dak on the franchise tag and not knowing the long term future of the team at the QB position.

This year we are likely to have a top 10 pick. If Dak does play next year on the franchise tag. And doesn’t get hurt. You won’t have a top 10 pick. Then following next season he likely walks and now you don’t have a high first rounder to get a QB. That’s not a good position to be in.

So I either want. Dak back on a reasonable long term deal. Or I want a QB drafted.

no Dak on the franchise tag.

I would trade Dak if he is stuck on the tag. I really feel a couple teams would be interested. I could see the colts or bears wanting him. Teams that have good defenses and other good players. And are a QB away from truly competing. They might trade for Dak and try to win now.

this "Dak hater" says yes I want him back. Thats what some people have called me when I made any criticism. He is top 10, drafting qbs is a crap shoot and even when it works it takes 2 or 3 seasons and by then we will lose another couple of OL vets. His ankle may be broke but he isnt broke, so no need to fix him

Without context this poll is meaningless

Do we have a shot at a top QB in the draft?

Is Dak asking for 35+ million or will he sign for 30-32?

I vote yes, however, I’m scared he may become like Wentz. Wentz fell off a cliff very fast. He was very good in 2017 pre injury, good in 2018, okay in 2019, and now he’s downright awful. Considering how the rest of the team (minus Amari for the most part), fell off after getting paid, it is worrying. And no, this is not something a rookie QB can fix. Which is why I’m conflicted.

We do not. We screwed that up by winning against the Bengals and Vikes. We would need to be in the top 2-3 spot, as I’m close to 100% sure that Jets and Jaguars will draft the only 2 QB’s truly worthy of being drafted (Lawrence and Fields).

Dak is from the underachieving Garrett era. I want to move on from this asap. Not just Dak, I want to clean house and rebuild.

T I think there is one major difference between Prescott and Wentz, coachability. I have seen Dak make progress with his accuracy, game management and pocket awareness and seen very little, if any, of that from Wentz.

I was one of the doubters of him coming in because I watched just about every game of his as a Jr and Sr at Miss St and that accuracy flaw stood out but I have seen him improve on that every season because he responds to coaching, which was one of things that Dan Mullen said about him when he took over the QB1 role, he didn't act like he had arrived and worked harder to keep it. Which might explain why he never lost the QB1 job in high school, college or the NFL.

There is a quality that I've seen developing with him over the past 7 years and it is the intangible. He doesn't have the accuracy of a Rodgers, but what QB does, but he has the intangible that helps him lead any team.

1. Dak has made very little progress when it comes to accuracy, IMO he got worse this season. Trying to prove that very thing. Throwing into small windows and trying to thread the needle doesn’t make you accurate it just makes you careless. And IMO he was getting careless trying to show he could thread the needle at times it works other times it doesn’t. Wentz undeniably has better accuracy stronger arm and better deep ball then Dak. IMO he has had a bad season but that doesn’t change my opinion on what he has to offer talent wise.

2. It still does. His high completion percentages IMO comes from staying within the system, not changing play calls. And sticking ton1-2 maybe 3 reads a play.

3. He doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence at this moment in time with Rodgers Patrick Russell or any other top 5 QB maybe even Top 10.

I like Zach Wilson from BYU quick release and mobile enough to wiggle around the pocket. And he would and maybe could be had in the 2nd round.

Dak fan. I soured on him as a senior at Mississippi State after really liking him as a junior.

Learned my lesson. I won't doubt him again. He's the best possible QB for this team. He plays hard and gives us a chance despite subpar coaching and dysfunctional leadership from the Jones. Kid is a gamer.

Just need to give him a non-garbage defense that can make an occasional clutch stop.

What about his inability at times to sustain drives? Or his bad record against good teams. Or the fact we went at one point in time WITH DAK 20+ quarters without a TD. Meaning the streak went on for multiple games...how quickly people forget. Dak is good but he is NOT the best possible QB for this team. That’s not saying he isn’t good. It’s just saying he has issues and Dallas could still get better.

The draft?
And they stand the chance of not getting a QB as good as they have. These people tried to trade up for Lynch and would have taken Cook if he was available. The fell into Prescott, after they fell into Romo because of having a coach on staff and both of these QB's were consolation prizes.

You want the same people picking a QB that tried to get Lynch and Cook?
