Yes, he'll be back... can you imagine this forum for Tom or Jimmy's first year, lol... neither guy would have had a chance here, and they both ended up doing ok after their first year.

I'm not saying his leash should be longer than it has been since we won a Super Bowl, but another year is, and in IMO should be, getting one more season before decisions are made about moving on from him.

How do you expect to make yeast rolls without yeast? (referring to Parcells shopping list)

Nobody needs to fool them. They are just fools.

it appears McCarthy spun a great tale of what he did on his summer vacation though as a means to respond to what Rodgers said about him.

in the end, the front office and McCarthy are both terrible. Terrible and rich and going nowhere.

You were not invited to the sleep over party so you are in no position to judge. Sleep over parties are the tried and true method for finding a head coach. I feel good that the process will work

Mike McCarthy is on pace to make 1.5 MILLION dollars per win this season; nearly twice as much as Lebron James [per win to $ ratio] with the Lakers last regular season (for whatever reason this was the first professional athlete that I thought of, completely random but adds a bit of perspective I guess).

The flip side is - this season is a complete anomaly due to the virus and he brought in a completely different staff, mostly all of the free agents that weren’t suspended for weed were a bust, Gerald McCoy (probably our #1 DT) got hurt before playing any meaningful football, the 2 studly offensive tackles have been hurt for pretty much the entire season, we don’t have a #1 defensive back in a pass happy league, oh and the franchise QB had his ankle turned into one of those odd New Years spinning things that people hold & twist to make loud noise (btw, where are those things the other 364 days a year).

Nevertheless, who would you like to see coach the Cowboys in a year or two if Big Mac doesn’t turn this around in 2021?

Things Mac has going for him:

-Dak will be back

-All pro LT Tyron Smith will be back

-Pro bowl RT La’el Collins will be back (correction: I thought La’el went to the Pro bowl last season but he did not).

-Zeke will put on his annual 20 pounds and be the best full back (emphasize FULL) since Moose.

-They’ll have a top 5 draft pick IF they’re smart.

-They have a plethora of draft picks including 3 tradable compensatory picks in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds due to them losing Byron Jones, Robert “1 sack” Quinn, and Randall Cobb. Told you guys the whole offseason that Robert Quinn is absolute dog poop. Dude is making almost $1 million per tackle this season.

-“Magic” Mike McCarthy & staff will probably have a whole offseason to implement those advanced analytics he worked on in 2019 and ‘sold’ to Jerry.
No he didnt situations torpedoed the year mostly injuries' and failed FA pickups coupled with no offseason..reboot 2021 is coming..

first 4 games of the season should show which side of this crowd was correct and im expecting a quick firing should we start this 2021 season like 2020 ie 1-3 or 1-4 etc Nolan will be first and more to follow,,this im confident on as they will get mulligan but with very short leash...

anyone who expected success for a first year head coach missing his franchise QB, franchise LT/RT out for the year and a team switching from a penetrating 1 gap scheme to a 2 gap scheme...just doesn't understand how the nfl works.

coaches who have first year success typically don't go without a franchise qb... none the less 3 pro bowlers up front. in addition the defense usually isn't transitioning...

already out of the playoffs before Dak was injured....
i bet you said that at 3-5 and with Garett at the helm..you were VERY WROMNG as most of your slanted OPINIONS are..no ones out of the playoffs these days teams go on runs all the time while other start hot and tank late..

BTW we had already cut Haha Lost Mccoy , Jarwin, and both starting tackles and no Tfred before GAME ONE(1) new staff no offseason early struggle or adjustments needed to be made as the season went along if that were our ONLY setbacks i believe we overcome them WITH DAK

However each game we lost more starters and it hasn't stopped all season, 2/3 of our starters have been out all year or many games..the season was lost 8 games in when we couldn't even keep one OL Lineup for more then one game, losing Dalton, going to gilbert, nooch and back to dalton while injuries' kept piling up Diggs, wilson all went down and down to PS DBS all over the filed PS DTs etc etc

the snowball got started before dak went down but it was the size of sky scraper by game 10..that why we lost the season..its one thing to lose few starters adjust amnd gain momentum but when they never stop IE the bleeding couldn't be stopped only slowed, you eventually die..

No he didn't fool the cowboys. he's the exact kind of coach they wanted. They hardly interviewed anyone else.

No head coach has EVER won a Super Bowl with two different franchises.

Does anyone think of all the coaches that have tried MM is the one to break that trend/record?
I don't know the stats behind it, but how many SB winning coaches are there that are jumping from team to team after winning one? How many teams are letting go of SB winning coaches in their coaching prime?

I have to assume the sample size of that pool (SB winning coaches that eventually coach on another team) is a lot smaller than we're thinking

statements like yours paints a picture that every SB winning coach is on a year long carousel rotation around the league trying to win one on another team and that's obviously not the case

I could be wrong, my statements were made without looking at any stats :(

Honestly for me this season was already a wash and not because we got McCarthy. I still think he is a great hire and can't put much stock into this years results due to all the variables. Way too many injuries this year...that alone can tank a season. But combine that with covids ripple effect on the team, I dont think anyone should expect anything more than where we are sitting. Covid affected all teams but when you have a brand new coaching staff with only the OC remaining it hurts a team much more than ones that have an already established system in place.

So next year will give us all a better look at what this new coaching staff is capable of.

Clearly yes he duped jerry...it doesn’t look like he can coach at all
One fool deserves another and the way it looks, they (JJ, Son and MM) are all fools and ultimately many fans (once again) ate the cheese and were fooled. All that said, I think many esp. in the zone are finally realizing the DC king is wearing no clothes. Like or not, the Commanders got the right coach and they will be the new team to beat. Lurie in Phili (love or hate him) is probably the best owner in our conference and will apparently sacrifice the faces of his franchise to win now. The Gboys will keep adjusting in the FO and coaches until they find the right guy. Ands the nepotistic DC will just keep selling their family flea circus. JJ's ego is larger than hiring an influential coach that could turn this joke of an organization around.

Yes, yes he did....but hey, what does JJ know about seriously interviewing a potential HC other than what's his favorite drink....or is his ego bigger than Jones'. ....so we have MM impersonating a HC, and JJ impersonating a GM, and SJ impersontating a football man. No wonder the Cowboys are impersonating a football team, like they say...a team reflects from the top down.

The in-game decisions makes me dislike him more than the lack of wins. I can understand injuries being a problem, but screwing up calls during a game is not understandable at all for a coach with his experience.
