Jaylon cracks me up, he just be running around out there lmao. Anyway I slowed the video down and there’s nothing dirty at all about the play, it just appears that way full speed. All he did was lower his shoulder (did not lead with his head) and spun out. Why? Thats Jaylon, idk:laugh:

yup I don’t see him trying to headbutt I see him anticipating a hit by a bigger player and putting his shoulder into it

Their feathers are ruffled because Hurts fumble didn't go their way! For once, Cowboys got the call.

Ball was moving slightly. Had to go with the call on the field as it was inconclusive.

Had it been ruled a non fumble I would expect them to stick with the same call

Uh, yea, i just don't know.
Technique was pretty awful for sure but an OL in space coming at you and you can't meet them with force? In the NFL?

It was during the play not late or after.
Jaylon has given a lot of dudes concussions like he did here and he is very willing to hit a dude helmet to helmet.

But I'm just not sure you tell a LB in space they can't hit an OL trying to block them.
I mean Jaylon has certainly been on the receiving end of a lot of clips of OL just pile driving him.

I thought that would be the play when he piled on the ball carrier at the sideline after he was already down. I thought for sure a flag was coming, the player was down.

Looks like he could have gone and made the tackle instead and that blocker wouldn't have even touched him. Anyone see this? Why didn't he just run to the RB and tackle him?

Actually, I felt certain that was his most glorious achievement.
Bet the Eagles were jealous they didn't do it to us first!

Shoulder shrugging off a block is considered a "dirty play" now? Regardless of what the league wants you to think, some helmet contact is incidental and not malicious or dirty. This is grasping at straws.
clearly launching off your feet, head first into a blocker is a "shoulder shrug". That is absolutely poor technique at best

If that was Johnson, Kelce or Brooks, Smith would have been headed for the tent.

Jaylon Smith fills the void left by Heath. While his play HAS regressed, and he DOES seem at times to be an entitled moron, when the Cowboys ditch him, some will say ‘Why did we let Jaylon leave? Stupid FO!’

Jaylon had outside contain. This was such a bad play for the defense as a group. Look at where ALL the DL are 1 second into this play. Outside the opposite hashmark from where the ball ran, lol.
Sean Lee was just abused here and wore an OL.
At least Jaylon sent a guy home with a headache I guess....

Outside contain doesn't mean you sit and watch the RB cut inside and do nothing. The play was right in front of him. As soon as the RB cut back inside, he could have have taken two steps and tackled him or at least been in on the tackle. Instead, he headbutted an OL, spun around, and ended up doing nothing. I don't get what he is doing half the time. He came up celebrating a tackle yesterday that he made 10 yards downfield on 3rd and 6. What is that?

Jaylon keeps doing that and he'll have a broken neck to go along with that bum leg.

Man, seems like every week this guy does either something on the field or with his mouth that makes me dislike him more
So the man cant talk while making plays...
Have to admit that Jaylon despite the level of fan hatred has been showing up a bit lately, kinda like the secondary, so I dont care what he says, just keep throwing your body into offensive players, and Im at least happier than I have ever been with him.

Go watch the play. Zeke has outside contain and stays wider than the widest. He hits the OT at the same time the RB is cutting inside and past him where the DL and Sean Lee were wiped out.
Smith was never closer than 2 steps away from the RB and that was with the OT in between them.
It was terrible form from Jaylon but he just did his primary job here, force the ball back inside.

You can go watch Zeke's long run for the same play basically by Dallas and the Eagles LB does essentially the same thing minus any weird head butts.
Ideally Jaylon would press that OT and squeeze the hole but the hole was so insanely huge Jaylon just hit the guy out in space to block him.

There are far better full versions of this play on twitter and other places.
Guys jobs are gaps and holes not 11 dudes just tackling someone.

Jaylon probably could have avoided the OT and just ran to jump on the guys back at the end of the tackle after 10 yards because you do appear to love those plays.
