Did Dalton play himself into a starter contract?

What a typical hot take. We beat a bad Philthy team with a defense that’s ranked 5 spots worse THAN US against the pass and people are crowning Dalton.

To be fair, he's been playing well for about 3 weeks now. While I'm not sure this is enough for him to be considered a starter here, I certainly think it helps his chances outside of Dallas. Looks good enough to be a starter still.

For what team in the NFL tbh? Are we talking about him potentially being a spot starter for the Jaguars or Jets until Lawrence and Fields are ready? That’s all I can see him as.

There are teams every single season that look for an NFL vet to start for them. There is a reason Fitzpatrick has stuck around in this league for so long. I think Dalton is a good enough QB where he'd be a good stop gap QB for a team in between a franchise guy or a team that is unsure about their young QB (think Tannehill and Mariota situation)

As for which team it will be, I mean, who knows. Maybe New England moves on from Newton after a single season and believe Dalton is a better stop gap QB, maybe the Giants have seen enough of Danny Dimes and want Dalton to come in just in case Jones doesn't take the next step. A lot can happen.

So do you think Ben DeNucci is better than Dak to?

No, it just shows how much ab impact Martin has on the OL that even a complete bum in DeNucci could have beat the Eagles, provided Moore wasn’t snapping the ball directly to Zeke in an empty backfield, with DeNucci lined up as WR.. That’s the guy Dak has been playing with his whole career.

Newton was signed for one year. It’s clear this was a rebuilding year. There is no way, in my view, they are going with Newton after this year.

Its comical these Dak-stans are acting like Dalton only beats average teams, while pretty much half of Dak’s TDs with the starting OL last year was against the Skins and Giants, who were WAY worse last year, than this year. And they act like Dak hasn’t had a five year track record of mediocrity, while talking about Dalton being involved in a garbage franchise that in no way had the talent up front these Cowboys did and he was still making the playoffs. They saw Dak without Cooper, setting QC records of futility, in 2017 had 4 INT returned for a TD like in four games, couldn’t put up double digits against winning teams when Zeke was suspended, took one week to throw a TD in training camp, and they claim Dak carried and was carrying the offense this year, while Dalton walked into an OL that was make-shift and doesn’t have one starting OL.

My choices for Dalton to realistically get a starter's role - Broncos, Patriots.

YEP, super stats prescott had a better team last year and didn't do crap. This year the same thing. Dalton with a worse offensive line has done a lot better but somehow stats prescott and his stats are better even with the losses. lmao. how'd those stats work out. oh yeah, in losses.

Dalton beat three teams with a 4-11 record. and one team with a 6-9 record....stop the hooting....Dalton sucks...0-5 in the playoffs. washed up as a strater and back up material at this point in his career.

his output against average teams like ravens, AZ, WFT....16,17,3, 10......and half of that in true garbage time......couldn't even make the game close enough to give the team a chance..

Dalton has had similar OL to Dak....yeah yeah yeah he had less of Martin...but is a RG the answer to everything on the OL? if yes, then shouldn't every team draft a RG in the top 5?

and Dalton has beaten 3 teams with a record of 4-11 and one team with a record of 6-9.....and got killed against average teams like Ravens, WFT and AZ...

Dak early in the year played against Browns, Seattle, Rams, all playoff teams.....and the team was within a score in the last 3 minutes...with a defense that was giving up 36+ pts per game....and 300 yards rushing

Dalton is racking up garbage stats (barely)...he could barely get over 200 yards passing against two of the 4-11 teams....and crossed the 300 barrier when his recievers had 100 YAC against eagles....

what about Dak in 2018? or is 2019 the only year that counts, when we had a lame duck coaching staff and a first year OC with all of 1 year of coaching experience......awsome ain't it?

The Broncos and the Patriots are the only teams I see where Dalton could be considered for the starting QB. I had the Bears too- but if Trubisky gets the Bears into the playoffs, they could offer him a second contract.
I don't think Broncos are ready to pull the trigger yet....Patriots....they may be higher on Stidham than Dalton. don't forget Stafford and Wentz may become available and Bilicheck the QB whisperer could do wonders with Wentz.

I think both will pass......

Elway is really lazy. He loves just buying random QBs and thinking, problem solved!
I actually think he makes a big deposit for Aaron Rogers and tries to force GBs hand into starting Love.
As for NE, I bet Belecheat isn’t going to go another year without his guy. So I think he will move up for a Mac Jones type or he trades to bring back Jimmy G.

How about Dalton coming into a team with no first team snaps, no training camp, no preseason, and a new coaching staff. Not worse than lame duck?

You’re literally so biased you can’t see reality. AD is playing solid, proving that there’s no reason to overpay Dak.

Nothing you say will change that. Nothing.
