I’m still amazed that many fans expected this team with a garbage OL and backup QB to beat a good defense. When we were in the red zone at the end, I hoped we would score, but we had struggled all game vs their DL and secondary down there. I was laughing at the talk after the Philly game that our OL had figured it out. If Philly had their starting DL in there, it would have been a totally different game. Every single player on the OL struggled today.
NY won in the trenches on both sides.....period.

That was our biggest weakness all year, the trenches on both sides.

Worst news all day was hearing KM is coming back.. dude is a bad play caller. The non challenge was monumental failing.. also didn't understand the decision not to go for 2 when we had all the momentum at that point.

This game represents everything that sucks about this season and our franchise. Just not enough playmakers.. fail at the fundementals and just couldn't make it happen.. but still showed enough to delude JJ into handing out big contracts because we are 'close'..

We need a defensive line so bad.. like so bad.

I read this last line about the defensive line and agreed but then thought even further and said to myself, the whole front seven really hasn't played well. The DT's on the line have been horrible but is there really any linebacker on this team that's a difference maker?

Jaylon? Not even going to beat a dead horse, most people see him for the disaster he is. LVE isn't usually talked about as much but outside of his rookie season, has he done anything to make you feel comfortable about the position? He's constantly injured and has been apart of this awful defense.

Realistically, I dont see this defense getting fixed in one off season even though id like to believe it could be.

We have no defensive tackles that should be starting at this point. Gallimore is young as is Hill but at the moment they haven't shown to be anything special. So you at minimum, we need one quality DT.

We need another linebacker who not only is an upgrade in talent to what we have but we need some durability there. LVE is constantly nicked up and probably one bad hit from a much more serious injury.

Wilson looks like a keeper at SS for now but we need a FS.

Outside of Diggs we have no corners under contract that could start right now, even as a number 2 corner.

I cant see this front office hitting on that many draft picks and as usual we will be bottom of the barrel shopping in FA which just isn't enough and before anyone jumps on my case about cap money, we always go cheap in FA so its not a one off type of thing. We sign below average players who simply aren't good enough which is why we get them so cheap.

I hope I'm wrong and im obviously not jumping ship but I think if we are being realistic, we are probably an average team at best next year that finishes around .500.

I could be wrong, probably will be about alot more between now and next season, but just going off our history, I would say I'm not too far off.

I
I love how everyone assumes that Dak would have won the game when all evidence points to it being the same result even with Dak.
I have my doubts about Dak, but his legs alone would have opened up greater opportunities for this offense.

And I do believe Dak would have given us at least one additional victory so we wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place.

And what is Rich Gannon who has outright said McCarthy is the reason his game went to the next level?

McCarthy has some skins on the wall in this league. No doubt about it. I'm just not thrilled with the hire and not encouraged by what I've seen this season.

Wow! What a bunch of losers that have been under JJ’s spell so long they whine, bellyache and cry about one game. Really...what difference does it make? This team will NEVER win another SB with JJ at the top...PERIOD! There’s no hope ever until he’s gone. Losers breed losers!

the talent on this team on defense is not very good and then when u dont start playing until the third quarter kinda hard to win games alos the cowboys had beaten the giants for seven games in a row things kinda even out

Don’t you get that it doesn’t matter with Jerry as GM, MM as coach, KM as OC, and whoever they find in their next failed DC search. Let it sink in - Jerry as GM, MM coach, KM as OC. You saw their genius on display today. Jerry hires MM, extends KM, MM can’t throw a challenge flag, and KM screws the pooch again in the red zone.
GM and coaching are constants that are not going to change. But our starting talent WILL change for the better assuming the return of our two OTs, other injured positions, and hopefully some draft help for the defense.
In the meantime, our GM is our GM, and I totally agree about KM vs the red zone. We can't change that. Nevertheless, I think the team will still definitely improve next year.
If you still feel that next year is a total loss, I guess you're just going to have a bad year unless you change teams.

i didnt think it was possible to worse than Garrett as an in game manager......but here we are.

The challenge aside Fat man went for it at their own 30 multiple times, Faked punts, had quadruple reverses etc...And he didnt go for 2 when it was 20-15. Just stupid. That was the "analytics" play there

That's what I've been saying for the past 25 years.

I don't think your "analytics" takes into account the undependable nature of this injury ridden patchwork team. As I recall, correct me if I'm wrong, ALL those fake punts, reverses, etc, that he went for failed because this team wasn't good enough to make it happen. I would imagine MM was understandably a bit gun shy after all those failed attempts.
Second, why is everyone all of a sudden taking up name calling like "Fat Man"? Is his weight legitimately a contributing factor to the outcome of the game? Would weight loss make him a more effective HC?
The last place I heard so much derogatory name calling was in school, and that was a long time ago.
