Last half of Darren's career was simultaneous with the other two beginning their careers-

Woodson robbed again. One of the best safeties to ever play. Ever. Robbed again. At this rate, D Ware will get in before him.

Woodson's key value was his position flex. Would play S, Slot Corner, and dime LB. Could do it all. Let the Cowboys play with their base personnel, counting on Woodson to take up whatever slack was needed. I'd take him over Haley.

Huge value to a team. But doesn't show up so well in highlite reels, because you can't be that flexible *and* the best at each role you're filling.

Much like how Lee used to up the game of the entire defense, what Woodson brings shows up in the play of the entire unit, not himself.

And he played special teams til he retired. Just massively valuable.

Woody's position flex made the defense go, but it's not *seen* in splash plays.

Woody has been eligible for at least 10 years I think. No one is complaining about him not getting in over Charles, for gosh sakes. He should already be in!

You can't use that to explain why Woodson hasn't made the HoF in over 10 years. The problem is strong safeties aren't valued by the judges as much as free safeties. If you ever watched him play, you'd understand the love many fans have for him.

I watched Darren Woodson play and he was a great player for the Cowboys but not a Hall of Fame player. He didn’t have the numbers compared to the other safeties, that’s what the Hall of Fame voters look at. They’re looking at INTs/defensive scores. Many fans have love for a lot of the Cowboys players from the 90s. Some think Nate Newton, Moose Johnston and Bill Bates should be in the Hall of Fame. Just about every player from the 90s has gotten Hall of Fame votes from fans on this board.

Counting the pre-Super Bowl era, I am pretty sure the Packers have 13 championships by themselves, while the Steelers have 6 SB wins.
