It wasn't Nolan who drafted Trystan Hill and Taco Charlton. It wasn't Nolan who let Byron Jones walk. It wasn't Nolan who signed washed up veterans on the defensive line who apparently retired before they signed the contract.

Coaches getting the blame and then fired, ironically, by the person who should get the blame.

I believe it was a combination of Nolan failing and the players not being good enough overall. I don't think it's good to change schemes year to year, but I also can't see the Joneses giving him much more talent to work with next year since they don't make good use of free agency. For that reason, I'm OK with bringing in the next guy and seeing if he can do better. Can't really do much worse.
If the scheme sucks and the players get really good at the scheme like marinelli's it can only be so good. It usually is good against subpar comp and even raises bad defenses due to being so predictable. Marinelli's defense allowed us to get torched by sam darnold and the next week darnold was seeing ghosts against belichek. Like I've said i wasn't big on the hire, but after watching the season if you asked who was the bigger problem the players or the coach it was 100% the players. They looked like they never played defense before.

Maybe Nolan did the unthinkable and was critical of Jaylon?

Jerry don't play that.

If Jaylon isn't any good that would mean that the GM who drafted him and then re-signed him must not be any good. Could it be? Nope. Has to be the Defensive Coordinator.

We should all expect a Jaylon-friendly hire here.

Maybe we can steal Brian VanGorder from Bowling Green? MIke Elston from Notre Dame?

You haven’t been here long enough to understand. This place is toxic with haters. It got 10x worse when they shutdown the DC forum. They all came here and now we’re stuck with the same trash that was the reason DC was shutdown for.
The only hate here is YOU!
You down-grade these forums daily.......

Don’t know what the hell you’re trying to say or prove. Maybe you’ll be one of those *****ing about whomever is hired I don’t know. But I stand by what I said. You’ve been here long enough to know what I said is the truth. Don’t believe me. Just wait until the hire and watch.
I think my first sentence shows that I agree it's going to happen. I just don't see the point in getting all riled up about it, especially when you don't even know if they'll be justified in hating the decision.

Nolan has been hit and miss in his entire coaching career. In all fairness his scheme requires not only athletic but high football IQ players not just one such as Sean Lee who certainly is near the end of his full time playing career. I agree Jerry is at fault but so is Stephen Jones and McClay who are the defacto GMs. Jerry is a part time figure head GM.
