Good stuff. I was at the Houston game sitting second row directly behind our bench 40’yard line and we started yelling to put Romo in. Parcells clearly took our advice because Bledsoe was sucking. Ok not sure about the last part, but the rest is true.
We REALLY wasted greatness having Romo and TO...they were almost unstoppable. I truly believe had Terry Glenn been healthy in ‘07, we beat the NYG in the playoffs and probably NE in the super bowl.
Bledsoe went 17-28, 168 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT, sacked 2x got 19 yds = 101.5 QB rating

Cowboys up 27-6 and driving; after Bledsoe completion to Witten for 1st down to Texan 37, Parcells subbed in Romo, who finished the drive with a 2-yd TD pass to Owens.

***! At about the 2:07 mark, did you see the Giants DB punch TO way after the TD? I wonder if they called a penalty for that?

Anyway, TO was a great combination of size and speed.

As for the Romo controversy, Romo was a really good QB, but not without flaws. I still remember him single handedly throwing away a game against the Lions and another against the Jets after the Cowboys took big leads in both games. As good has Romo could be, he could be just as bad. At the end of his career Jerry really had no choice but to replace Romo with Dak. Romo was just too injury prone. Every time he got hit he broke something. The Cowboys were lucky Dak turned out to be as good as he was in 2016.
I was at that Lions game, 2 passes were tipped ie bounced off the hads of recievers but i was more upset with play calling be that far up and abandoned the run game..i was so upset how the f do you lose 24poit lead in the 4th qtr at home. We could have easily punted 6 times in row all 3 and outs and won that game..not all on romo

the Texans were not good (except Demeco Ryans who’s name was called seemingly every tackle) and we were DOWN 6-3 at halftime. Bledsoe looked bad until second half and we finally took the lead and got some breathing room. It was pretty ugly first half though. At that point in his career it was evident Drew had lost it. He was also completely immobile which was a big part of the problem.

Five Facts about Romo

1. Great Underdog story
2. Average Success as a Franchise QB
3. Average Leadership ability
4. Pathetic Off-season Conditioning and Fitness regiment - Golf
5. Nothing more than Ring of Honor

No agenda I love Romo. I was at the Preseason game where Romo took his first NFL QB snap.
We were shocked at how excited the team was when this undrafted rookie took the field.
Romo was special but had an average to below average Success for a Franchise QB.

Nothing more than a Ring of Honor inductee.

Thank you and I agree.
Got paid a lot of money.
Got adopted by the Jones family.
Some portion of fans have Romo Stockholm syndrome.. as in they think he is the great thing since sliced bread.
I loved Romo and defended to the bone, but after watching his whole career, i honestly remember all the times he came up small in the playoffs and a lot of big big regular season games. I could list out several just off the top of my head.. and this will anger all the Romo lovers.. And let me add I am not a Dak guy, I think both of them are functionally equivalent.
Good players, you should not confuse for Franchise QB's and DO NOT pay Dak 40 million a year. It is the formula to go 7-9 to 9-7 for the next 10 years.. so we would be going on 36 years since a NFC Championship game apperance.

called reading defenses , i know novel concept we miss sometimes..notice how fast the ball came out, its because he already knew where he was going with the ball many times before the snap..
And telegraphing to the defense when the ball will be snapped, giving them a better opportunity to get a jump on the ball.

Great thinking!

Allowed more time for a pre-snap penalty and gives the defense maximum time to rest as well.

obviously you didnt watch the videos and all his tds and big plays..i guess the defense even knowing its about to be snapped cant get there in time when you have quick release and know where you are going with the ball..other qbs sit back and wait until there halo of space around the Wrs to throw it are the ones who need more time..

id rather have long presnap look by a Qb who can dissect defense then one who needs to see a wr open to throw it..

Aikman was a better quarterback than many here give him credit for being, but he couldn't have carried the teams we've had since he retired any further than our past two QBs have.

Yeah, we just haven't been quite a complete team most years. The couple of times we might have been we had unfortunate mistakes or the refs put a pile driver on us.

I wish you could go back in time & put a young healthy Aikman on a team that slung it around the yard so all the silliness about his abilities could be put to rest.

Don't completely agree but applaud that you seem to apply the same criteria to both players.

So that's what an NFL arm looks like. I had forgotten.

Actually the best thing is to mix it up.

Predictability is the flaw for all NFL offenses, not a quick or delayed snap.

So crazy seeing a real QB fling it around, we haven't had one of those in a long time.

So crazy to see a receiver get behind the defense, and get yards of separation, and break tackles for touchdowns. Not downgrading Romo, but there were several comments on touchdowns like "too easy" or "wide open" from Buck or whoever, would like to see more of that for Dak.

Also I noted so many of the touchdowns were off slants, TO was really good at those....
