If he makes the jags relevant and consistent within a year or two and we're stuck with Dak for 5 more years while missing the playoffs each year...well nothing changes I'll be the same lol

If you'll look, you'll find plenty "Dak sucks" posts, no need to drag Dak into every blog here....

As crazy as it might seem I would not be surprised if they were a Super Bowl contender within three years. The quarterback has to be the next Dan Marino/Patrick Mahomes but they do have the cap space and the division to be good. The Jaguars management leads a lot to be desired after because they don’t pay there stars but I like their future better then the Cowboys.

The AFC has all of the young quarterbacks Jackson, Mahomes, Allen, and Watson. Wow!!!
I believe Trevor is going to bust. I always have. He will NEVER live up to the expectations hes had by fans on here and by the media over the last 3 years.

And if one person says "well he needs a team around him? I am going to pull up every Dak thread that says QBs can win games without the situation being ideal. Ive heard it here.

I've heard that here too funny enough. And Dak was a 4th rounder.

Whats funny is the biggest proponent of that line of thinking is very quiet after his man crush got eliminated the first week of the playoffs by the Rams. Where was Wilson to lead his team to victory last weekend? Non existent.

Maybe. But from Spurrier to Saban to Holtz to Kelly, and on and on, the NFL is littered with successful college coaches who flopped in the NFL.

The Johnsons and Carrolls are the exception, not the rule.

We'll see....
harbaughs too , both did good.
I would rather hire a college coach, and take a chance, than a old retread like MM.
Or some OC or DC in nfl.

He got PWND. I'm of the opinion that TLaw is not going to do well in Jax. At least not to start. People forget how loaded Clemson usually is. Jacksonville is NOT Clemson. They are NOT loaded like Clemson. Now we will see how TLaw does on a bad team.

Some coaches just have it, I think he is one. Urban was out of coaching for a year after Florida then came and led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season. I think he will do well if he stick around for 3-5 years
Making the leap to NFL hasn’t been favorable to some of the biggest names in College. Because they can’t stockpile unlimited talent having an unfair advantage to most of their competition.

It will ultimately depend on the talent he amasses. He will begin with one of the best QB prospects coming out in years. In 2021Jaguars have 5 of the first 65 picks and 11 picks overall in draft.

I like Urban Myers but I don't think he will be in Jacksonville or any where else for long. His health issues are what took him away from coaching and what will have him walk away again. I like him as a HC but I think this will be a short lived situation and Jacksonville will be looking at HC within 2 years

Wilson was playing the nfc's best defense, but that said, Wilson is also overpaid.
like dak he is good, but not good enough to warrant the pay he gets.
Without the legion of doom, wilson may never get to another SB.

And dak is same, without a great defense, he will never get to a SB.
He may never get past div round, so why pay him 37 mil a year ??

If dallas already had a great defense, and a better hc and oc, then it would be different,
and I would say sign dak.
Dallas needs a defense more than a qb right now.

Ditto the bolded comment.

Wasn't that happy with MM, if for no other reason than no head coach has ever won the SB with two different teams, and most (not all) win their SBs fairly early in their career, and while they are "successful" they don't win SBs...

So sign dak and build your defence thru the draft and you have a 5 year window? I really dont understand why this concept is so hard for people to understand. (not you) In general.

A certain poster here constantly said that Wilson will lead his team no matter what and win and Dak cant do that with or without a defence. Thats what I am referring to

What is your definition of a bust. He has Josh Allen and Justin Herbert type talent. I guess he could get injured but other then that he should be at least a solid quarterback.

Ryan Leaf had great college stats and looked awesome too.

Hes coming from a program that has been STACKED for years. Going to Jax. Lets see how the messiah does when he doesnt have supreme talent at every position.

Leaf had some mental health going on. I guess Lawrence could bust like Paxton Lynch did for Denver. I think Lynch would have been a different quarterback for the Cowboys though.

I was wanting the hire to be Meyer so bad last year. He was there for the taking and when he said on TV: “You don’t pass up a job like the Dallas Cowboys”, I knew it could be done.

If it wasn’t Meyer, I wanted it to be Matt Rhule, who is also a very good coach IMO.

Alas, Jerry hired neither. Wanted experience at head coach. You’d never know that Jerry was the same guy that once hired Jimmy Johnson straight out of college and won two Super Bowls with him.

I get so mad at Jerry.
If Meyer wins a title, then Jerry gets none of the credit, and we can't have that.
