Yes, in 1991.

Cal Poly: Starts thread, is completely ridiculed. Kaiser ridicules Cal Poly

Cal Poly: "Look, I'm popular!!! "

Kaiser jumps on CalPoly’s thread to claim he’s being stalked by CalPoly.

[Kaiser goes back to realizing he’s an unaccomplished hack]

That's the best move. I don't because he has been stalking me for so long I really should know what nonsense he is posting about me.

Plus its so easy to rip on him.
I can put up with some negativity and some of the posts i dont agree with but starting threads for no reason but to rip and belittle our star players who were some of the best People both in the community and on the filed just pushes my buttons..

Jwitt was top 5 DC for me , one of the best ever on an off the field..he deserves the upmost respect to go out on his own terms..even if hes not doing much anymore stat wise..Ive ben DC fan since 1980 and only have 2 Jerseys , why because wearing one means more then supporting the star it players who represent what DC is on and off the field..

Witten
Smith

there are others but for some reason these are the two i chose until i decide on another..

Garrett simply refused to play any te not named witten.
I don't disagree. his time had come nad gone. still why diss him while he is on the raiders.....he was a cowboys legend for years...he declined. we didn't replace him and garrett sucked. so blame garrett. blame jones. why diss witten?

Congrats on the decision to wear other men’s names on your back.

At least you didn’t get them tattooed like kaiser did.

not true. we tried draftig his replacement several years in a row. they just didn't pan out Cowboys wanted to get rid of witten several years before...

and despite all of that...he was one of the greatest cowboys to ever wear the uniform and sure fire first ballot HOFer....why diss him at the end of his career!!! what did he do to you? he is not even on the cowboys...

and why diss Witten even if he was bad his last few years...your displaced anger should be towards jerry jones.....Jones could have said, no, we are moving on and not resign him.....

Who was drafted to replace Witten? Fasano and Bennett were both drafted to compliment Witten. Witten was only 26 when they drafted Bennett. Maybe you can make a case for Gavin Escobar, but even then Witten still in his early 30s and producing. Swaim was a 7th rounder. I don't think that is the route you go to find a replacement to a Hall of Famer. Jarwin was a UDFA. Schultz was a 4th rounder. Maybe he can be considered the replacement.

Witten was let go at the right time or as right as you can get when parting ways with a legend. He was done. He retired one season and came back. I was disappointed when he came back because I think once you move on you have to truly move on. You have to prepare for the long term over any short term benefits Witten brought to the team last season. I'm a big fan of Witten, but you have to make that first step forward away from him at some time.

I don't disagree, we had tried, but failed..... and last year witten was a garrett trustee, so he got playing time....its OK to me these older veterans, once greats always try to hang on one or two year too long....rice, montana, brady, aikman, etc....not many retire at the top....perhaps barry sanders and calvin johnson...

You argued last years that Witten was starting because Jarwin couldn’t beat him out. Now, you’re acknowledging he was getting PT because he was a Garrett “trustee.” Jarwin clearly was outplaying when he was on the field. The new regime came in, analyzed what Witten was presently (not the legacy he built), and let him walk. Then, they signed Jarwin to an extension.

I didn't think Jarwin was ready last year. he didn't have the experience and was very green. There was no evidence that he could be a good TE. Witten came out of the booth to give the group some veteran leadership. He was trusted by Garrett because he brought the veteran leadership he wanted with the group and he was the RKG attitude and he knew the system........everyone on this board including me, was thinking we need to draft a TE. Jarwin was a player with "potential" who had one great game against Giants in the last meaningless game of the year.....not a player everyone thought was gauranteed to be good.....as the year progressed, he got more playing time, learned from Witten, he got better. specially running the shorter routes, which he had problems with earlier..... he showed more.... he was/is still green in my opinion and at the time early this year I thought we still need to upgrade the position. if you asked anyone in the league where the dallas TEs ranked in the league we would be in the bottom 10%. everyone on this board thought similarly. with that said, Schultz has been a very pleasant surprise to a point that we probably don't need to think TE in the draft given the recieving group that we have.

Witten needs to pick up the pace to catch Gonzalez. He needs 99 more catches. At this rate it will take him 6 plus more years. :)

Fitzgerald is 128 catches behind Jerry Rice. Fitzgerald would need about a little over two more years to catch him.

Peterson trails Emmitt by about 3650 yards right now. Peterson is on pace for around 600-700 yards this year. At this rate he would need about 5 years to catch Emmitt.

Frank Gore trails Emmitt by about 2487 yards right now. Gore is on pace for around 700 yards with the Jets this year. Gore would need a little over 3 more years to catch Emmitt at this pace.

None of those guys are catching the leaders. That being said, why are they still playing?

If it's to try and catch the leaders, boo to all of them, when the jig is up, quit embarrassing yourself, it's obvious you're just padding stats.

If you're playing for the love of the game, then as long as you're not holding back some young player from getting his shot at being the leader, keep at it.

If you're trying to get a ring, ditto the above. Most every player wants that ring.

Those are my views, take them or leave them as you will...

I expect Witten will call it a career. Hes done. Same for Sean Lee. Time for both to move on to retirement.

as far as Jarwin..until he can prove he can stay healthy and be that number 1 guy, I wont drink that kool aid. AS OF NOW, that guy is easily Dalton Schultz. He earned it. He should go into camp as such.

To be fair he’s a backup behind one of the best TEs in the league.

The problem in Dallas is his country club status was too high to ever get him to be in a role like it is now.

Except if we had Waller and Witten the roles would be reversed. This team is that stupid. They had a golden opportunity to at least get Jarwin more involved last year since he would be the guy in 2020 and they didn't do it. Waller would waste away until Witten retired. I don't even doubt it for a second.

Jarwin getting hurt has allowed Schutz to get valuable playing time. But before this year he had such limited pass targets, teams didn't know much about him. Now they do. Defenses will adjust.

But really, Witten in 2019 had 63 catches for 529 yards and 4 tds. Schultz had 63-615-4. Basically the same as Witten, albeit with backup quarterbacks, but that goes two ways, backups will often look for the big target like a tight end more than say, Dak would because they aren't familiar with the receivers. Though Schultz did have more than Jarwin's best year.

At this juncture I'd say neither is no. 1, let the competition begin!

Though in fairness to Lee he was supposed to be only a backup, he was placed in games far too much.

But both he and the Cowboys need to move on....

Meh, he was one of the 'basketball boys' hanging with Garrett in the offseason.

He and Garrett used each other, Garrett for pull with the 'team leaders' to help keep his job and Witten for playing time long after the expiration date.

That Romo-Garrett-Witten triangle was embarrassing.

Fine player no doubt, but his blow ups on the sideline were considered leadership, while Dez's were considered disrespect.

Whatever, all the best to Jason Witten, but that entire era couldn't end fast enough for me.
