Because I've seen Stafford play for 10 years and I'm not seeing it at all.

We all get blinded by it.

Some think Mac Jones must be the greatest QB ever based on what he did in 2020 and in the Championship game. They forget he has future #1 picks all around him and a superior system. (he won't be much in NFL)

Flip side: Stafford played in dumpster fire situation.

as I said, bad goff and a 1st for stafford, but dang 2 1sts and a 3rd? Dallas tag Dak right now and get your multiple 1st round picks. There was a thread not too long ago talking about teams giving up multiple (3+ first round picks) and now that doesn't seem too crazy for a young QB in Dak, right?

edit: Rams are going to be some serious contenders next year with a solid QB.

But if Watson wants to be traded than how much higher would you have to trade to get him? Because I thought two 1st's and a 3rd would get him done....apparently all it gets you is Matthew Stafford. Hell a 1st could get you Sam Bradford a few years ago lol.

The Rams could never ever have afforded Watson. Not the picks and not the salary.

Rams's first round picks don't have same value - Top ten first round picks = TWO first round picks at bottom of round.

Plus Watson has way pricier contract than Stafford, and more than Goff.

I'm just stating this because when I posted this I was told Dallas couldn't get two ones for Prescott despite of the current market.

Prescott is a different situation. He's not under contract at all. And he's poised to get mega money.

Stafford was cheap.

Contracts play a big deal in these trades.

That said, two #1's...maybe. Maybe.

Rams can restructure guys and cut guys to make Watson fit. Nobody is allowing salary to stop them from getting Watson lol.

They sure would have preferred that! Everyone has a budget, my friend. o_O

Watson + Ramsey + Donald...that would truly be a dream team.

Stafford is cheap now....but when its time to re-sign him you are going to re-sign him for even more than what he's getting now.

That's because people have this weird way of dissing everything their own team does....I saw bum *** Sam Bradford get traded for a 1st rounder. Now I get the privilege of seeing Matthew freakin' Stafford net two 1sts and a 3rd lol....so yeah anyone that thinks Dak can't get two 1's from a team that thinks its a contender with him simply aren't paying attention.

Few thoughts:
-They had #1 rated defense this year. QB play stopped them from advancing.
-They built the most expensive sports palace in the world and then Covid landed. Big money troubles with Ram's ownership. They need to win NOW. (sale ticket$)

Bingo!!!!!!! IMO this is exactly what the trade is saying. They've won with defense and coaching in spite of Goff.

Actually not as bad as people are making it out to be

Two firsts for a good qb would be a fair deal, they also dumped like 100M in cap that they didn't want on their roster. The Seahawks paid more for a safety that can't cover lol

Yeah that trade...whew.

Jamaal Adams can be a superstar five or eight plays a game, but he can lose you games w/his mistakes and lack of coverage skills.

The Rams are going to fail and not have a solid foundation for a decade.

My problem is, unless you are Tom Brady...Stafford is kind of old especially given his recent availability problems/bad back etc. It's a big gamble to give up all they did but they must have really, really wanted to get away from Goff to do what they did. Not sure what happened there.

If it worked that way Jerry would just buy us a Super Bowl.

From the top down.
If I'm reading this correctly......Deshaun Watson's cap hit is actually smaller than Stafford's this year.....

And it was a dumpster top down in large part because of Stafford. Golladay got hurt but he's always had stellar centers in Detroit. Maybe its lack of coaching I guess?
