The Rams will use the rest of their draft on o-line.

Stafford is the type that needs lots of protection.

The negativity that some have for Dak is so strong at this point that I'm convinced that there would be some who would accept Jerry giving up all that the Rams did for Stafford, as long as they can go around gloating about the fact of Dak being gone.

I won't be going out of my way to gloat after Dak is somewhere else.
It's about the Cowboys moving forward, and that's all.

Deshaun Watson's cap hit is actually smaller than Stafford's this year.....

Any team acquiring Watson will be responsible for accelerated guarantees, portion of bonus. It's a much bigger $ hit than Stafford. Trust me: they couldn't afford it. (L.A. is bottom 8 in cap space)

And Houston is going to want high level first round picks...and immediate ones...and LOTS of them. Rams have none of this.

Gotta be one of the biggest player for player trades. And I'm very surprised Detroit got that much for guys who are pretty similar.

Brad Holmes just won "Executive of the Year" with this haul. Maybe they can even salvage Goff.

pffftttt.

Well, I almost got through that with a straight face.

I'm gonna laugh when Detroit turns Goff into another #1 pick......and deals him too...

I said it when they traded for Ramsey this was gonna end bad....I had no idea they'd do it yet again this time for Stafford...wow. I wonder what their fans think.

My guess is they're thinking, hoping the moves for elite players will lead to the postseason, meaning the picks will at the bottom of the first. Someone just posted they had the #1 defense this year. Pretty sure Ramsey was a huge part of that. If you think about they're only giving up a 3rd and Goff this year (2021). Either way, they overpaid but it's trying to save some skin from the colossal mistake of drafting Goff AND giving him a huge 2nd contract THREE YEARS early.

Stafford's 2021 cap hit will be $20M for the Rams, unless the Rams sign him to an extension, giving him a signing bonus and lowering that cap number.

Watson's 2021 cap hit will be $10.54M for his new team. That's assuming his new team doesn't also sign him to a new deal, trading signing bonus money for immediate cap room.

Yes and no.

They inherit $45M in future guaranteed dollars over the next two years.

They are not responsible for any portions of his signing bonus. That's all on Houston. The Texans would receive a dead money hit of $21,600,000 (4 years remaining of a prorated bonus of $5.4M, 4 x 5.4M = 21.6M)

So the Rams aren't allowed to restructure Ramsey to get more cap space? Or restructure anyone for that matter?

I was gonna say...I knew that sounded suspect but wasn't for sure myself.

Man... Goff has been bad. Dude has been top 5 in turnovers from Mid 2018 to present day. Also outside of top 20 in TDs and QBR. For the $ he got he’s clearly been crap.

Its to get rid of goff.

Yeah, that is the only logical reason why the Rams would do this idiotic trade. Maybe money? Are the Rams strapped for cash? Goff has $43M guaranteed for the next two years. Stafford will cost roughly the same for the next two years though. Maybe the Rams save some needed cap space. Have the Rams signed Jalen Ramsey to his $20M/yr contract yet?

What do the Rams know about Goff? Maybe something happened between Goff and the Rams? Very Strange.

Rams probably could have had Desean Watson for that haul.
