Goff was merely a Pawn who McVay was feeding plays to. The Pats neutralized the Gimmick in the SB when they would never set their defense basically ending the Goff experiment. McVay carried him for three years The Rams are in win now mode. It’s a gamble but the upside is a couple SB appearances. Brady will eventually leave. The Rams are in the drivers seat.

People seen to think trading is the name of the game, when it’s about winning the SB. The reason the Rams have lost, despite their defense, is because of Goff.

Yes but they wont win a SB, they may not even get there.
and I dont say that because stafford wont be better than goff, but there are other teams in NFC that they have to beat to get
to the SB.
Tampa bay, G Bay, NO maybe, Seattle, SF if they get a qb, and of course the COWBOYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im the minority. I still think Goff can be a good QB in this league. He’s turnover prone but I just think McVays system wasn’t a great fit.

If I’m Detroit, I’m happy. We get a decent QB and a lot of draft capital.

Plus they aren’t winning the division for a while if Rodgers stays in Green Bay

With 2 firsts from the deal, I'd be happy with it I suppose. Over the course of 2 years, that's 4 top picks that the Lions would be able to use to fix major weaknesses quickly.

Dak is essentially like Goff.

Both have high QB ratings on the first read abd have top 4 drop offs on the second read.

Both generally run the most play-action of any QBs in the league.

Goff can use the traditional drop-back while Dak can’t.

Both QBs limit what a play caller can do.

Dak isn’t worth that much. No way Rams or any team offering that much for Stafford.

The Rams aren’t in anyway in a no improvement mode with Dak, basically trading a mediocre QB for a mediocre QB. Heck, it took Dak years to learn the ‘basic’ Cowboys offense.

They are in it to win it, pairing Stafford with McVay. McVay is probably excited as hell.

Not only that, but it doesn't stop them from potentially flipping Goff for more picks in a separate trade. Maybe they try to soak a team like the Saints for picks who are probably losing Brees to retirement. Imo, Goff is a better QB than Winston, and if the Lions were to approach the Saints for a 1st for Goff, I'd have a hard time passing that up if I were the Saints. Especially in a division in which you have to play Tom Brady twice per year, Goff would give the Saints a great option at QB. Plus, I think Sean Payton would do brilliantly with Goff.

I've never been impressed by Goff. He doesn't seem to be very smart. I think that McVey covered a lot of his warts.

Bill Walsh once said every year you are only competing to win a SB with 5-6 teams.
When was the last time Jerry tried to win a SB. He just wants to keep us in the news, whether it's Romo, TO, Zeke, Manziel, Dak, War Daddy, Jerry World.
