A lot of y’all don’t like him (seems especially personal too I don’t know what he did to some of y’all lol), but he’s been on the right track on stuff as well. Here’s his quip about Tyron, paraphrasing, he indicated no one in Tyron or the FO’s circles has any clue where this “Tyron is done/wants to retire” stuff has come from. Watch here:

Personally, I think we should keep an eye on the future of the position (3rd/4th round pick) but unless he reinjures himself between now and camp he’s the starting LT next season.

P.S. He confirmed the team and La’el Collins expect him to start at RT as well.

its pure delusional to say we are gonna ride Tyron yet another season..lol..if we do that Dak will get hurt again. TIME for an upgrade!!! STOP sticking with injured players too long. KNOW WHEN TO SAY WHEN! Why has this org. always been this dang stubborn? MOVE ON FROM TYRON.

Weird situation. Tyron has tons of money and enough accolades to get into the hall of fame (1st team all-decade, 7x pro bow, 6x NFL top 100) so normally I would say there's absolutely no reason for him to come back but he really likes football and is a tough SOB so I wouldn't be shocked if he did came back

This entire bs write up is crap. I've heard nobody say anything close to anything suggest the fans don't like Smitty. Is he getting old, yeah, of course he is. Is he more limited, yeah, he is. But this fan base has shown love to Smitty since his arrival. The point behind all of this is, can you get value for him now, as opposed to waiting till he is done. That's about what all of this is about. But what ever, lets be stupid about things like we have been for 25 years and call it a day right.......

Thank him for his service and move on Jerry. My GAWD...other teams do it. Jerrys loyalty kills this franchise.

That's good news with both Collins and Smith. Right now our main focus should be defense in the draft so if we can get one more serviceable year from Tyron and then invest high draft capital for his replacement in next year's draft, that would really help us. I agree with OP, we should look at the position in later round picks, but our premium picks need to go to DT and secondary.

NOTHING wrong in trading him. WHY then hold onto a guy 2 years too long and get zilch? It makes no sense. Fisher is trying to hard on this vid clip. He is spewing , spinning it. Its lyin season I guess..draft time and free agency time...so the teams send their team writers out their to publish fake claims to take us off the scent.

The interesting part was the Cowboys don’t seem to high on the 6’3 tackle (Slater). I do think that there is a chance they draft Kyle Pitts at 10. He will probably be a top 5 player on most boards as the draft approaches.

To me, there isn't a top 10 DT in this draft but even if there was, the type of DT we need is not a guy you take top 10. That guy comes in the third, fourth or fifth round unless he's JJ Watt and I don't see one of those guys in this draft.

His injury issues should be a major concern, especially considering it’s his back. If he can play more that would be great but we need his replacement on the roster.
thats why this bizarre argument by Fish makes no sense to me. I suspect he is just throwing the scent off due to the draft.

Uuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh Iiii would have to agree. See what trade value we can get for him and try to find a replacement for him in the draft. Even with all his issues, I suspect we can get probably a 2nd. That'd help us to be able to use that to draft a LT.

if Pitts is there at 10, and there board says hes rated there, they have to either find a trade partner or they gotta draft him. The kid is just too dynamic.

Slater is an offensive tackle.
