Take away Dak’s rookie year and we have 29-24. If you want to compare statistically, take away the highest and lowest outliers and then average. Much better comparison.

Also, Dak has played on much better teams than Stafford has, in general. Stafford had a 100 yd rusher a ridiculously low amount of times. Something like 10. Stafford never had a legit run game. Stafford never had the Stacked OL Dak had his whole career. Stafford never had Zeke in his prime.

Dak complete 62.8%

Dak threw 70 TDs and 23 INTs.

You would think as some point all that talent would reveal itself in some more wins or something..

I mean, NFL personnel people, professionals in the business of evaluating NFL talent rated Stafford as one of the very best, if not the best, talent coming out that year. Dak was rated as a 3rd or 4th round guy, how do you figure that happens?

According to the NFL combine website Matt Stafford and Dak Prescott are exactly the same size 6’2.25, had roughly the same 40 yard dash (4.75) , and have similar arm talent as they threw the football the same velocity at a peak 52 MPH for Dak and 53 MPH for Stafford with both having a max throw distance of 62 and 63 yards respectively.

Which makes me wonder what exactly makes guys like Matt Stafford more.... “talented “

As a 53 year old white guy from Sunnyvale i can confidently tell you Talent seems to be a dog whistle used to put down certain quarterbacks. I actually saw an info graphic where some people at ESPN said Josh Allen was more “talented” than Patrick Mahomes.


That’s why Mitch Trubusky will be drafted ahead of Watson and Mahomes and yet now he’s a backup and teams are willing to trade a minimum of 4 1sts for the lower picked guys.

What accounts for this phenomenon is the same phenomenon that allowed Deshaun Watson a multi year starter who had better stats and accomplishments at Clemson than Trevor Lawrence (the consensus #1) to get picked lower than a guy like Mitch Trubisky who didn’t even start a full year and put up worse stats in college than the starter before him that couldn’t even get drafted the year prior.

Based on what? Because he threw a pick at the end of a couple of games, not bailing the team out of the hole turnovers created?

1994 NFC Championship game, Aikman tosses a couple of picks. Battled back, but could not close the deal. With perhaps the best defense in the game at that time and the triplets.

2007 NFC play-off game vs the Giants. Romo takes two huge sacks and doesn't throw the ball away. (Everyone blames Crayton, but Romo made two huge mental errors by taking those sacks in subsequent drives) Then throws into double coverage to lose the game by being intercepted by McWhorters.

I think you are completely wrong about Dak being a difference maker. Else how did they come back in the Atlanta game and nearly win two others on the last play?

And in both cases, Dak had a worse defense than the two QB's above.

Stafford threw 72 interceptions over his first four full seasons (against 103 touchdowns) with a prime Megatron and decent offensive line.

Once Dak's mobility goes and he is completely reliant on his ability to throw a football then there won't be hardly any difference between he and Andy Dalton. My opinion anyways.

There were several of us who knew that Wentz sucked after his second year. But not Catch and the other Dsk haters. Now they’re quiet and most of them aren’t even man enough to admit they were wrong. Do they keep doubling down or slink back under a rock.

But some of you are too scared of drafting Quarterbacks.

But Carr at those numbers I feel better about.. Especially if we can get him to sign an extension that takes off more cap pressure.

I am not scared, who says I am scared. but given there are no sure things in this draft and Lawrence is the closest and will go tops, the rest are hit and miss. you could get lucky, you may not. but if you pick one then there is a few years of development, which means the team is rebuilding around the QB. gallup should be traded, Cooper will be gone, we would need a LT, and perhaps trade Martin and get some draft capital to rebuild the defense and offense....we also would have to think about trading Zeke, what value would he have with a rookie QB that would need a few years to develop, why pay that much for a RB,where you can draft one mid rounds and have similar success. so if you want to go with a rookie QB, lets go full rebuild mode, because it doesn't make sense otherwise.

Take away Dak’s rookie year? He’s only had less than 5 years in the league and then you want to take away his best year? Stacked online?
