Why must you post so stupidly? Because I say Brady is a great QB you call him my "hero"? lol That's as stupid and illogical as you pretending Brady's talent had nothing to do with winning 6 Super Bowls and accomplishing all the other things he has.

As for your comment that you weren't talking about " Deflategate", that was actually the only thing Brady himself was directly linked to. He wasn't the one caught spying on practices. In any case, it's ridiculous to suggest that those things negate everything Brady did. He was still under center, making the reads, calling the audibles and throwing the passes.

Like I asked earlier "Who benefits the most from knowing and stealing the other teams defensive signals?" It's the guy under center, making the reads, calling audibles and throwing passes.

Also I may have called him your hero but I also have had a healthy respect for your opinion without calling it stupid or illogical. I understand he means so much to you though.

Do any of the other so called greats have so many red flags on their resume? Let's not forget about the Tuck Rule(another championship). Also let's remember why defensive players have to tread lightly when sacking the quarterback(torn achilles in KC 2008). Let's not forget that team went 11-5 with Matt Cassel at quarterback. Why'd Matt do so well there and couldn't get a first down with the Cowboys? He's a system quarterback and the system entails cheating. Your hero is overrated.

You can call that illogical and stupid as well.

Making a ridiculous comment like Brady being my hero shows a healthy respect for my opinion? lol Sorry, that doesn't fly.

As for the spying, sure it was mean to help the Pat's, but do you really think that explains 16 playoff appearances, 9 Super Bowl appearances and 6 Super Bowl wins over 19 years? Do you really think any average NFL QB could have stepped into the Patriots QB role and done the same? And, by the way, the Pats obviously weren't able to do this with every team every season.

I think if they give him what he’s worth he will accept.

That's the problem though right? What he may feel he's worth and what Jerry or other teams may feel he's worth could easily be two different things.

Roc, you and I don't even agree on what he's worth so yeah, I'm not sure that's really the answer.

I think Jerry knows what he’s worth just like he knew what Lawrence and Zeke were worth. Jerry has a pretty good gauge of that.

See, this is the thing, I don't think so. I think Jerry and the Cowboys are really trying to figure that out. If Jerry knew what he was worth, I think this deal would be done. I think that Garrett is gone because of this, to a great extent. I think Jerry went out and hired a HC who he thinks, might be able to help him find out what Dak is, once and for all. I mean, seriously, if you think about this, this is an all in game if you Jerry. I think Dak and his agent want that 40 mil deal and I think they are willing to hold out for it. I think Jerry isn't sure if Dak is that guy because 40 annually means that there will be no more quick fixes coming down the road for awhile. Dak has to be the guy if you sign him to that deal. Regardless of what many believe around here, there is a hard cap and it is going to come into play the minute Dak is signed IMO.

So lets say Jerry were sure, how does it make sense to hold up the deal? I mean, if you know for sure, then you just write the check and I have said, many times, that if Dak were a top Franchise QB, I would be all in on whatever it took to sign him. But the problem is, if you do that an you are wrong, you are basically screwed for a good while because in 5 years, this teams window is closed. It means that this is effectively an all or nothing deal, if you sign him to the kind of money I believe he and his agent want. I mean, I was serious when I posted that every fan should really understand and pay attention to who and what France is. That guy is an all or nothing agent because he has built his brand around getting record deals for players at any given position. It's part of his business model, now think about that for a second. This isn't just a commission or pay check for him. This is his biggest, most visible, contract negotiation to date. If he gets this done, then his brand continues to grow and his ability to generate more money continues. If he fails, he takes a hit and it basically effects his entire business in a negative fashion. Agents are hot and then they die. He is, right now, in the zone but that can go as quickly as it got here. Think about agents over the years. Eugene Parker, Rob Palinka, Leigh Steinberg, all these guys were on top of the world in this business at one time. Now, they are just another Agent getting a sign here and there. France is trying to capture as much as he can, for as long as he can, while he can. This is more then just a deal to him.

Now, this is all opinion, I have no proof of this but think about it, why not sign Dak if you know he's the guy? You know the market is only going to go up so why not if you are Jerry? Why would you, for years, hire Coaches and simply replace them at regular intervals and then hire a guy with zero experience, keep him for 10 fricken years even though he won nothing and then go out an hire McCarthy and give up all control when you have never done that for the rest of those guys (with the exception of Jimmy and Bill)? Unless you don't know and you are trying to figure it out.

I just don't think they know yet and they desperately want to know because this deal either puts you over the top or kills your team for a long period of time. I have no proof of this, obviously. Nobody does but I just don't believe that it's as clear cut as many believe it is.

If Dak pulled a Zeke and sat out until he got a new contract....he would've gotten that new contract. That's why things aren't done. They aren't done because they don't have to get it done. Lawrence had to get done so he could have the surgery and be ready by seasons end. Zeke had to get done because he sat out. Cooper and Dak....they decided to play. Had they pulled the same moves they too would've gotten their deals done.

People knock Zeke for what he did but you have to do what you have to do in order to get these billionaires to pay you. Dak and Coop didn't. And now there's talk of a franchise tag. Jerry is just toying with what is a great guy. But I don't know how much longer he can toy with him and ignore.

They should know what they have in Dak at this point. And they do. They know what his ceiling is and what his floor is.

There was always talk of the Tag with Dak. That has nothing to do with sitting out. His agent is why the discussion of sitting out started. Everybody knows that guys playbook. I don't believe any of this is the case because of what I've seen from Jerry. Jerry doesn't do his QBs dirty. He takes very good care of them and always has. Maybe too good. No, I think this about finding out. We'll see soon enough though.

Jerry is YEARS removed from taking care of his qb's.....he gave Romo a deal that was bad for this team. If Jerry had no faith in Dak he would've drafted his replacement. This is not the time to wonder what you have in a player. You have guys who have about 3 or 4 years left in their prime. This isn't the time to figure out what you have in Dak. You either know or you don't.

If Jerry had no confidence or "faith" in Dak, then I agree, he would have but, nobody but you is saying that. I am saying I don't think they know yet. That's very different. The years away thing has nothing to do with anything IMO. Jerry is who he is. Jerry has never been a guy who won't pay for truly exceptional talent and yet, the team hasn't done that. This is exactly the time to figure it out, if you don't know. There is no bad time to figure out what you don't know.

Let's just agree to disagree. I just gave you a scenario where a below average back up caliber QB had an 11-5 record with the Patriots.
