If you believe multiple NFL reports, yes they are. Teams that have called Philly have basically not even made counter offers because Philly's asking price is so high.

If the value you put in a player is so astronomically high, you run the risk of just turning teams off and they move onto other options. Maybe the Bears say Philly is being ridiculous and move onto Darnold. Or maybe they say shoot, if Philly wants two first rounders, why not just offer a similar package to Houston for Watson?

It's all part of negotiations. I have done negotiations for insurance claims and as a contractor with sub contractors, suppliers, etc. for years. Negotiation techniques are pretty much the same anywhere you go or whatever is involved, be it people, salaries, supplies or whatever.

What do you think, NFL owners, gms, etc. are timid little kids who are too ignorant to study negotiations?

To use your example, if you're asking $750,000 for a house that's only worth $400,000, I'll just give you a counter offer for $250,000. Costs nothing to make an offer and you let the seller know that he's being ridiculous, so I can be ridiculous as well.

Teams aren't "scared off" or "turned off" just because a demand is too much.

They evaluate the player and decide what they will pay for them. If they can get him, fine, they'll do the deal, if not, they won't.

It's as simple as that....

Chicago guy who runs the Bears version of BtB is saying he's hearing the Bears are growing impatient with the Eagles. Bears offered a couple of 2nd rounders but Eagles want more. Colts aren't budging on their offer and Philly wants Wentz out of NFC. So Bears may have upped their offer to a 2022 first round pick + 2021 3rd round pick + Foles for Wentz and 2021 6th round pick. Or 2021 1st round pick + 4th rounder in 2022 + Foles.
That is what I heard

Wentz's 2017 season will be talked about like Al Bundy's 4 touchdowns in a single game for Polk High in 1966.

It's really not that simple. And I have done many negotiations for my financial institution. And my wife's sister is a realtor.

The majority of time if someone overvalues their house significantly, the potential buyers don't even counter because it's not even worth it playing games with the seller. It works the other way too where someone could seriously lowball someone and they won't counter because it's just a waste of time playing games. I trust national reporters (and local ones here in Philly) more than you and it appears that teams have been turned off by Roseman and many teams haven't even bothered to make any real offers given the Eagles asking price is out of reality.

Teams absolutely can get turned off by ridiculous trade offers. If the Bears feel the Eagles aren't being serious and are asking for way too much, they could easily just turn around and go make a deal for Darnold, for example. Then what?

They aren't getting a first and a second (and maybe more). No way.

It's coming out now that the "hot" market was oversold and that the most likely teams like the Colts and Bears are in no rush given the Eagles are asking for way too much.

We shall see. I bet you didnt think the Lions would get 2 #1's and a 3rd for Stafford either.

Sure. What's the bet

Well..............what are you saying they are going to get for him? Im saying at least a first and possibly a 2nd. But if they throw players in, then that kinda screws it up.

You said "NO Way" to a first and a second so you imply it will be much less.

What do you think they will get for Wentz?

They will not get a 1st + a 2nd. That is what I am saying. No chance

I would never say no chance. But I'm still having a hard time trying to justify a first. Based on what? Not only was this year a disaster, but all reports coming out of Philly are negative. Not coachable, can't handle competition, a quitter. Who's going to come out and say, yep, here's a first straight up for Wentz? I don't see it.

At the end of the day, they may be able to squeeze out a first round pick, likely from the Colts or Bears, who have later 1st round picks but I suspect Philly may have to throw something else in to sweeten the deal.
Man, I just don't see how anyone offers more than a 3rd.

Why do you and others feel the need to start threads worrying about what other teams do or get in some possible trade? Are you out of new things to talk about with the Cowboys?
.

Why do you feel the need to comment on threads that you are not interested in? Honestly, the title is clear, why'd you click on this?

So I could ask the question I asked. Can't ask that question about starting threads about other teams in other threads. Why does it bother you that I asked that question, you didn't start this thread?

Yeah but note who was in that trade - Goff. Goff is a peer of Wentz's and Goff had to be packaged with two #1s just to get a veteran QB and dump his contract.

You think like the Eagles apparently are thinking. You think Wentz = Stafford when in reality Wentz is way closer to Goff in that trade scenario.

Stafford is a great QB and QB challenged fans are going to find that out next season if the Rams can stay healthy. Like Romo, he was in prison in Detroit.

Ya I remember that "great" QB that in a game from his own 4 or 5 yard line drops back to pass and when moving to his left to buy some time he throws the ball and has a completion for like 20 yards except the whistle blew because he didn't know where in the end zone he was and stepped on the end line and got called for a safety. I remember another time when that "great" QB took the snap and turned to his right and tossed the ball like a pitch out to a RB except there was nobody there and since it was a backward lateral a defensive player picked it up and ran untouched for about 30 yards for a TD. Or how about when that "great" QB was under center and takes a snap and keeps back peddling and to avoid a sack he throws the ball at the back of his center then the lions got nailed with an illegal touch of a pass which was on a 3rd down so with the penalty yardage made it 3rd and like 22 and then he bobbled the snap on the next play and lost the ball. Living in a NFC north city I see the lions twice a year and have seem way to many blunders by Stafford that in my opinion out weight him being called Great.
