I’d love to take a look at him for multiple reasons. He’s def lost a step but his leadership and also him not having to be on the field that much could help him prolong his career
Leadership didn't translate to team performance on the field......something we're familiar with when it comes to "leadership".....and overrides one's actual on-field performance. Next up: "He would make a great coach."

Watt is only going to be good as a situational player and probably wants too much to be put in that position. Too much wear and tear for him to be a full time starter.

Okay. Thank you. I'm sure you think you're making more of a point.
That's great.
I'm happy for you.

I'm disinterested in where you've been trying to go.
maybe Mccoy Poe and griffin come to mind lets bring in more oft inured aging underperforming FAS just because he has the name WATT..bad gms do this..got it you are bad fan internet gm..dont hold your breath im glad it wont happen because SJones has it right,..most of the big name aging FAS released are not worth the price tags.

now if he comes here and says plays for 3-5mil and has big snap count use him for key situations etc sure..

so he ha
Yeah, he’s so bad that he has double the number of sacks of all other defensive line players currently under contract on the team combined. In case you’re wondering, he has over 100 while Tank has less than 45.

If I am Jerry, I am racing to sign both players from the 2011 draft. Yes, I’m talking about three players on the same team from that draft in the top 11 picks: Patrick Peterson (pick 5), Tyron Smith (pick 9) and J.J. Watt (pick 11).

Watt would play DT in Quinn’s defense. Just close your eyes and imagine for a minute a line with DLaw, Watt, Gallimore and Gregory, then a secondary with Diggs and Peterson as your two starting corners. Upgrade doesn’t even begin to describe it.

But then I wake up and realize it ain’t happening with the current cap situation and our QB holding us hostage for $40 million per year.

“No interest” according to the Star Telegram.
d 100 this past season? and that means nothing if it wasnt of late..we should bring all our greats aout of retirement than Ware and Haley they available they have more sacks..hmm larwence Taylor available we need LBs too ..woody bring tham all back...SMFH!:muttley:

wow what ridiculous statement// how many games has watt played the last 2 seasons and what were his numbers? now what does he cost$$$$ ..nah

5 sacks last year and 4 the year before...Pass! Looks like just another Lawrence to me and he will want big bucks. Let some other foolish team sign him up.

According to, at least one news release, several unnamed sources have stated "the Dallas Cowboys have no intention of acquiring JJ Watt."

I'd take him in a heartbeat on a team friendly deal just because of his locker room presence and intangibles. However, he deserves to go a real winning franchise to get the ring he deserves. that ain't happening in dallas any time soon.

You don't even get what I've been saying, but that's par for the course.

JJ Watt has been a great player in this league, unfortunately his leadership skills haven't kept up with his style of play. The Texans made a huge mistake when they hired O'Brien and it affected the play of every player on the team. The Texans wasted the great years of Watt and now they know that one player isn't going to get them into the playoffs thus being the reason to release Watt.

Well, I don't get why Jerry wouldn't want him. He wouldn't cost us much. He's a good bridge player for us. He'd be an instant jersey seller. He would add another HOF player for the Cowboys. And he's still got at least 3 years in the tank. If we can get him on a 1 year deal, we could get a nice comp pick for him.

I could see that. That would make sense if that's why the Cowboys aren't interested.

Brothers. He has two bros on the Steelers.
Yep
And I could see him wanting to make it a family affair
But he’s from Wisconsin and they have a pretty good team that gives him one last shot at a ring

I'm not especially given to taking one side or the other but rather, I'm must passing on what I've seen reported lately. I think perhaps that the FO is intent upon drafting those whom they feel is likely to give them a longer and possibly, fairly more active amount of service. I could see going with or without welcoming JJ Watt onto the team, even though I think his better days are behind him. Maybe they're wary of welcoming injury-prone players by now.
