When the Stafford trade happened everyone assumed qbs on the move would get multiple firsts. The move the Rams made was desperation. To get away from Goff. They woulda traded more in all likelihood to get that contract pitts la

Exactly.......Stafford trade was an exception to the rule. McVay and Rams made up their minds to make him a Ram regardless of what it took. Most other offers capped his value at 1st and mid-round pick.

They also had to have their trade partner take Goffs contract.

And the 1st rounders don't begin until 2022. They didn't have one to give this year.

Stafford true value was maybe a current 1st and a lower pick to someone who really wanted him.

The rest was a payoff to cooperate.

Exactly. They overpaid. Teams are hopeful others will overpay like the Rams but it doesn’t seem to work that way

Hell, if they weren't desperate, the Rams probably could have done the deal with the draft picks alone and traded Goff in a separate package for at least 2nd, maybe a first. But Lions reportedly wouldn't do the deal without Goff. So they basically gave him away as a throw-in like he had NO value.

I watched a lot of Philly early in the year.

Not to defend Wentz, but that OL was dreadful.

Even Mahomes couldn't do much without time, and Wentz had very little to none of it.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he went elsewhere and played well, especially Indy....although I'd have a tough time banking on that if I'm them.

They would. Watson is going to command 4-5 firsts alone.

the reality is all NFL executives know most quarterbacks right now... suck.

Outside of

Mahomes
Dak
Watson

all the young under 30 quarterbacks are looking like one hit wonders or generic system quarterbacks. No wonder NFL.com has Dak the #1 free agent and Watson the best quarterback potentially prospect available.
No one is giving 2 #1picks for Dak.

He's not worth a first. If some team offers them a third, they should grab it and wash their hands of this guy.

Eagles fumbled this whole situation and it's beautiful to watch unfold week after week. Trading a QB when his value is at an all-time low, and wanting premium compensation is new for me... interested to see if someone bails Roseman out.

I could see them moving Went after the draft to a team who missed out on a QB and are as desperate as Philly.

Bad news, he got them to a Superbowl

Daks ankle is clapped badahh

No...wrong...he got them to the playoffs...Foles got them to the Superbowl...Wentz's played no role in the post season.

So in reality, Wentz has zero post season skins on the wall...IIRC he only has 4 career postseason passes with 25% completion rate, 0.75 ypa , and 1 fumble...that is the extent of his career contributions to the eagles attempt to get to the SB at any point in his career. So spare me with Wentz got them to the SB.

Yet prior to that Stafford trade many here said Stafford was garbage.
Would be interesting to retrieve and review that thread.

Where are all of the Wince supporters who vehemently have said he was a by far better QB than Dak the past 5 seasons? The same ones who said Wince would prove to become a far better QB than Dak by this time in their careers?
Come on. Time to man up! :D
Wince or Gimp since you love to tag with fun names. Actually not much difference in the two, if you take off your Homer glasses there isn't a lot of difference in there careers. They are second tier QB's at best.

Wentz led the league in INTs and didn't play the last few games. He looked tentative and shell-shocked. I can see why teams are concerned about him. Up until this past year he has had a good OL, but injuries on the OL left him exposed in 2020.

I think Wentz can be rehabilitated. He can be a lot better than he was last year, but he is always going to be the guy who takes risks with the football. That is not necessarily a bad thing because when he is hot he can makes some ridiculous plays. Of course when he is not, he looks ridiculous. Still, he can be decent for someone. I don't think he is a locker room cancer as some people are saying. A year ago people we talking about what a great guy he is, although a bit of a goober. When the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts, I can see why Wentz got a little miffed. Rodgers reportedly got a little miffed when the Packers drafted a QB too. Pride is not a bad thing to have necessarily.

If you are a GM or HC, what do you think about him? He gets benched for good reason and immediately wants a trade. That's like the QB's in college losing the starting job and wanting a transfer, doesn't work that way in the NFL. He had no problem getting extended and taking the raise.

They're not just looking at the QB but the team leader, does he look like the team leader to you? When things weren't going south for him, did you ever watch the interaction between him and the players on the sideline? It looks a lot like WFT when Griffin was there to me.

Damn.......Colts and Bears don't even have starting QBs but so they both refuse to offer a 1st. Howie may have screwed this one up......the best he may be able to get 2022 conditional 1st.

Wench, a huge gamble, is worth a 3rd, no more, as a backup.
But the Wench diva wants to start. Good luck with tha, blokes.
