I still haven’t budged that Parsons is my fallback if one of the top two corners isn’t there.
Obviously, his background/character concerns have to check-out.
There isn’t a DT available that I’m willing to take at #10. Neither would I be enamored with taking Rashawn Slater there also.
Parsons’s ceiling is high. He’s still developing at the position and is already one of the best at the college level. We need talent at this position.
What....say....you?
Agreed. Much rather have Jabril Cox or BrowningParsons scares me to death, immature, has issues with misdirection and still is learning how to play coverage. That reminds me too much of Jaylon Smith. If I am going to invest a top 10 pick for a non-rush linebacker, the player better be an elite 3 down player now, down the line. I think there will be a few quality linebackers in day two, early day 3, that could make an impact right away.
I wouldn’t say not to address. I just feel out of 1T, OLB, CB or FS that we could get by with a cheaper guy / later draft pick. We continue to follow that method at 1T and FS it hasn’t worked well. We’ve tried at corner and had some median of success.
Cox and Browning are nowhere near the the level of Parsons. The character concerns are legitimately something to consider. But as a prospect he is still the best defensive player in this draft IMO.

I find it hilarious that fans can watch our horrid play at linebacker and be opposed to addressing the problem with talent.
Why is that? If the guy is a top 10 pick....frankly, I don't think the Cowboys are in position to be picky about talent any position.Just say no to a 4-3 LB with a Top 10 pick
How many 4-3 linebackers in the league would you give up the 10th overall pick for?
If the reason you are not drafting Parsons is because of the character concerns that’s legit. But Cox Browning and Cox are inferior players... by a LOT. The players you draft in the top 10 are players that have All Pro talent and upside. Parsons is that kind of player. Only reason to not consider him is the off the field stuff.Considering where you need to draft Parsons vs where you need to draft Cox, Browning and Werner, plus you factor in the off the field issues the value is about equal.
Parsons has the highest upside, but also has bust potential based on where he is drafted. I feel like Cox, Browning, and Werner although they may never be perennial pro-bowl players they could all be good LB's that you could get day 2 allowing your 1st round pick to go to a high value position like QB, OT, or CB in this draft.
Until Dak is signed or traded QB needs to be at the top of our mind as of right now in the first round.

Which I think he could be. Wonder if Quinn can turn him into Bobby Wagner.if Parsons is coachible, he can be a stud
Here’s my concern. Two of his “cons” if you read some of his draft guides are two things that frustrate the hell out of people with Smith (and at times LVE).
Questions about his instincts and he’s not great at taking on blockers and shedding them.
But the flip side is there aren’t a ton of options at 10 if the CBs are gone. So he still might be the best player available.
