Should cowboys have traded a 3rd round pick for Wentz?

There was money involved too and the 2nd can easily turn into a 1 if he plays.

Its still not a home run package for him.

It’s pretty preposterous at this point to think Wentz would have more value than Dak.

NO, i have no trust in Wentz, he turns it over as much as Darnold does, who i also don't trust at all. The team could do better.

As for those dumping on Romo, come on man, an undrafted FA....his career turned out pretty good i would say. He's living the dream now.

He could have been a good 2nd string backup that could’ve have learned behind Dak on how to be a better quarterback if we can only franchise tag him this year.

The Eagles would've never traded Wentz to the Cowboys for a 3rd round pick.

Contrary to popular belief...the Giants defense wasn't great. They did have a very good defensive line however. Personnel-wise I would've rather hav had the
Cowboys defense in 2007 than the Giants.
And as we all know a dominant DL makes all of the other weaker pieces on defense perform that much better.

In 2008 the Giants defense gave up two whole less yards per game and almost ONE entire point less than the Cowboys. The Giants defense was ranked 2-3 spots higher than Dallas.

I’m thinking you’re delusional about your thoughts on how much better one defense was than the other.
Forget the season rankings, what did the Giants DL do in the playoffs, they harassed the bell out of Brady for sure. Brady has linemen in his grill and he ain’t that special.

And this speaks directly to your bias on this subject.

I don’t think so.. I actually think they would.

I think most NFL people think Dak is a product of the environment around him and honestly I think the guy who signs the checks thinks it as well.

i must have no gray matter. I seen Eli put up when it mattered most. And Romo choke when it mattered most.
We all know the Giants went on two great playoff runs with Eli

You do realize that he also leads NFL history in most playoff one-and-dones too though....right?
The two gret runs.....then all other playoff games have been loses. 4 one and dones.

As for Romo. It is what it is.
I'd say in 3 of our 4 playoff losses with him, he played well enough to win.

While true...Eli Manning made some big time throws as well. Defense is half of the battle you still have to put points on the board.

Giants D came up big when it needed to. They held the 16-0 Patriots to a minimal amount in the Superbowl unless Tom Brady is a JAG.

I agree that Eli made a few excellent throws but Romo would have done the same and some imo with those teams.

Eli blindly lobbed a ball in the air in the middle of the field yet his receiver made a miraculous catch using his helmet and won a Superbowl as a result. Romo threw a perfect ball to beat the Giants but rather than his receiver continuing his route for a walk in touchdown game winner he inexplicably hesitated during his route. Next play Romo threw an interception on 4th and forever with receivers covered and the narrative by some is that he's a choker. If David Tyree didn't make one of the most outrageous catches in the history of the play offs then the narrative of Manning would probably be that he's a gimp.

Ok but Eli has TWO rings and to my knowledge Tyree didn't play in both runs....

At least he got into the playoffs. Far more than Romo did. I can't find it in my hurt to knock someone for going one and done especially when they have 2 rings.

I think Dak fans would be disappointed in the lack of interest from teams around the NFL. Dallas fans certainly have a higher opinion of Dak than the rest of the world.
I've seen nothing to suggest that. Actually I've seen the complete opposite. Most sites have Dak as the best free agent available. High praise for someone overrated.

Playoffs

Cowboy's offense w/ Romo.....19.83 ppg
Giants offense with Eli...19.25 ppg

Romo TD to Int ratio....4 to 1
Eli TD to Int ratio....2:1

Romo Playoff Rating 93
Eli Playoff Rating 87

Romo was better than Eli in the playoffs but the Giants' defense was much better than the Cowboys' defenses in the playoffs.

Comes down to the universal fact that it's a team sport
Romo sure wasn't perfect, but he did deserve better....imo
