Robert Alford was his other corner. Standing a towering 5'10 lol. Dont know why he wants to come here abd bring the tall lanky nonsense when he didnt do it in Atlanta. Just get good corners and stop the height thing

Who you guys like at corner and why? I watched a little highlight tape not a lot. I do like the way Surtain & Horn turn their head and play the ball...it would be nice to have a corner who can intercept some passes.
Surtain and it is not even close. Hopefully teams in front of us question his speed and hips so he will be there at 10. They guy has three years of good game tape against the best receivers in college football and his father was a pro bowl cornerback. The kicker is he will only 21 years old to start the season and has no injury history. He would walk in off the street and team with Diggs then we would have one of the best pair of cornerbacks in the league. His technique is already NFL level.

Farley is athletic, fast and seems like a good kid but he needs more experience. The guy should have played this season. Big upside because of his speed and ball skills.

Horne had one great game against Auburn that put him on the map. He is grabby but if the referees let him play I love his competitiveness.

I think it’s projected on what he did as a D coordinator as opposed to a head coach.

Its funny people talk about what Quinn likes at cb but he sure hung on to Trufant forever. Last I checked he wasnt a tall, long corner.
Unless I’m thinking of the wrong Trufant....that’s exactly what he is. He’s not Sherman long but long for a corner.

I don’t think length is a requirement for him but it helps when some of the best corners in this draft fit that description .

I think Farley is the better pick. Doesn't mean we do it but he would be the first corner off the board if he played this past season. He still might be with taking the year off. that speaks volumes

What does that have to do with anything? So if they aren’t fast you don’t spend a 10th pick on them? I’m trying to see what angle you’re coming from here.....

I’m saying this scheme is more dependent on front 7 and safety play

Surtain and Farley both have significant questions

there are very good scheme CBs available in rds 2-4.

No need to take one of them at 10

Are you sure you aren’t thinking of Marcus Trufant? Desmond Trufant is listed at 6’1 190...that is not short and a far cry from not even being 6 foot.
Check the combine measurement bruh

Here’s what former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn said about cornerback length to MMQB back in 2014:

Length: “You want him to have 32- or 33-inch arms,” Quinn says. “He doesn’t have to be 6-3 or 6-4 to have length.”

From his own mouth. Then he drafts bust isiah oliver because he met his arm length. This is looking like another failed coaching hire

thir is exactly why I would love to trade down from 10 and take one in rd 2 and one with the top rd 4 pick
I think there good depth at the corner position, where we may even find a day 1 starter in rd 3. There has to be an attractive player a team is willing to trade up for.

Everything I see has him listed as 6 foot to 6'1....so I'll just assume he's that.

I'm not a fan of Quinn but I think its a bit of a reach to equivalent drafting Oliver to drafting Surtain. Not of the same caliber.

If there was a defensive tackle or linebacker worth taking at 10 then I'd be for it but as I see now....Surtain and Farley are much better prospects than any of those other positions there.

I also think its a fail to go get a lesser prospect in the 2nd round. That's what happened when we thought we should draft Taco in the 1st and draft corner later on.

Lol bruh go to wikipedia and press professional career. You're welcome

And im not saying the 2 corners are the same. Im just saying its dumb to rely on arm length to assess a player. Especially when his most recent success/pro bowl corner didnt meet his arm length criteria. Surtain probably wont be a bust.

In Quinn’s typical scheme you don’t need to be a burner at corner. Typically longer in size, smart and instinctual.

Sherman - 4.56
Browner - 4.63
Maxwell - 4.43
Simon - 4.51
Today's opposing players are much bigger and faster. We need faster/quicker DBs. Did you guys not learn from what we've have for the past 10 - 15 years at CB?

From what I have read after Quinn was hired, he is a huge Cover 3 DC, Atlanta implemented more of a Cover 2 when Morris took over the job.
Yeah, Morris is Cover 2 for sure, but I read Quinn started to shift more of his coverage to 2 high looks before Morris ever took over, at least that's what I read.

If true, I wondering how much does that change the type of DB they look at.
