Ahhh so Catch’s ego has now expanded to believing he can tell other posters how to feel.

Also, if the cowboys sign Dak. We can’t complain when they blow defensive draft picks left and right, like they’ve been doing for years now.
They didn't "blow defensive draft picks" on purpose. They did it because they are who they are. That's just going to happen. It has nothing to do with signing Dak. These are two mutually exclusive issues that can happen independently of each other. I'm going to complain about the draft, that's just going to happen. What happens with Dak is still unknown. If they pay too much, I'm going to complain, if they let him walk there is a possibility I may complain. If I find out Dak was asking for something fair and the FO would not agree to it, damn right I'm going to complain. But there is still the possibility this may work out for everyone. Happy days could return. I hoping for it but the price has to be right.

Houston is a team grossly mismanaged. They're worse than us. Watson's cap hit last year was under 10 million. They're terrible managing the cap. I'm pretty sure they traded Hopkins because of the future Watson cap hits. Look at the Cowboys. Most of the money is on offense. Pay Dak and there will be little to no room for D. Don't pay him and the team will suck even worse. Dallas will be in bad shape either way. Just my opinion.

Seems like a lot of good teams have this problem. They’ll figure it out just like the Hawks, Steelers, Chiefs, Packers all did.

I get the feeling Dallas will sign on Dak’s terms.

Jones’s always stretch out these negotiations only to take a huge L in the end.. It’s what they do.
Dak is feeling the PR heat a bit so it will be surprising if he doesnt bend.
Dak get his principle 40 per
Jerry gets his 5 year term.

Did they not want that deal a year ago? Sure they did and yet it did not happen. Nothing has changed. Don't get your expectations up, because the same incompetence that prevented the deal a year ago is still there now. Expect more of the same.
It's more on the fault on the agent I believe

Last year France made his demands and never moved from them. Then France might have wanted to get a deal done but for the amount he was demanding and not negotiating.

Nothing is imminent and no new proposals have been swapped but there is growing optimism within the Dallas Cowboys organization that they can finally sign quarterback Dak Prescott to a long-term contract extension.

According to a source, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones has had recent conversations with Prescott’s agent Todd France and both are of the mindset that they need to get a deal done.

Because even a front office as incompetent as Dallas’ knows you don’t let a young, proven franchise QB go. Period.

Get it done.
this is a incompetent front office one of the bottom level ones in the nfl

Yeah I agree. That’s why I was questioning the thought process of who I responded to.

It is preposterous to say fans who like Dak, can’t complain about the rest of the team, if he is signed.

that would be like me saying.... if Dak isn’t signed. Then those who want him gone, can’t complain about any shortcomings the team may have after he is gone.

it’s nonsense.

What if a very creative context was bargained where a few other players were involved in some minor restructuring and Dak gets his cash, and Dallas gets its term, and yet to be determined extra cap to maybe be in position to draw a Tomlinson interest,,, I could live with that build and hit hard D in the draft.
Just saying it doesnt matter what opinion we have, pro Dak anti Dak.... anti contract... lol

The Texans are better off trading him and starting over.. They suck with him.

Elite QBs consistently get to the playoffs even when their team sucks.
Oh really?

So Aaron Rodgers wasn’t elite in McCarthy’s final 2 years in Green Bay.

And Drew Brees wasn’t elite when he went 7-9 for 3 straight years with the Saints.

Right?

I'd like to see some compromise by each side. But I don't see that happening.

Right?

They have Super Bowl trophies and they consistently make the playoffs.. I’m not sure what your point is.

Dak doesn’t consistently make the playoffs or have a Super Bowl trophy.

Never going to make a deal without that compromise, so are you suggesting that Daks camp will never give on the 5 year term?

They want what they want. If the Cowboys won't give it in 2021, someone else will give it in 2022. Now, this depends on how bad Dak wants to remain a Cowboy. If he wants it bad enough, he could relent on the 5-year term. I just don't see it.
