He has not just made the playoffs but reached the divisional round 50% of the seasons he has finished

let’s be real. If he doesn’t get hurt this year. He would have made the playoffs 3 out of 5 years.

all of this on a team where about 95% of the posters here would say has had poor coaching and a bad front office.

Nothing is imminent and no new proposals have been swapped but there is growing optimism within the Dallas Cowboys organization that they can finally sign quarterback Dak Prescott to a long-term contract extension.

According to a source, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones has had recent conversations with Prescott’s agent Todd France and both are of the mindset that they need to get a deal done.

Because even a front office as incompetent as Dallas’ knows you don’t let a young, proven franchise QB go. Period.

Well its on Dak for staying with France then,, I give Dak that credit, he is sticking with his guy,, for better or for worse.

When France left CAA Prescott talked with a couple other agents but decided to stick with France. My guess, and it is just a guess, is that Prescott has France on a short leash meaning he does some serious negotiations or Prescott will fire him and get a new agent.

Idk but to me letting his agent know hey this is good enough for me praying no to some things. I had a few buddies who had agents and I know some. Alot of them are REALLY good at manipulating their players into thinking there trying to get the best deal possible for them and painting the perfect picture but in the end wanting nothing more nut to fatten their own pockets. A buddy of mine lost millions because his agent refused numerous contracts all over 1 million

Jones’s always stretch out these negotiations only to take a huge L in the end.. It’s what they do.

I don’t think they lost the Cooper deal. Actually I think that deal was good for everyone. Same with Martin Smith(not Jaylon) Frederick deals. They actually were doing much better prior to the disaster of folding like cheap suits to Zekes demands. It amazes me. They sign Zeke because at that point we were run first. We then let go of the head coach and bring in a guy who’s pass first after paying the RB to be the bell cow. I am so confused on this teams vision

Dalton won 5 games after taking over for Dak this year with a defense that was historically.

Dak was 1-3 (should've been 0-4). Dalton won at a higher pace this year then Dak did.

If thats true it becomes a buyer beware situation, market is already reducing with teams like Rams, Eagles getting out of those contracts, even eating the dead money to do so.
Owners are showing their leverage with these moves, the market is shifting for the smart shoppers,, we know the Rams gave up the farm for Stafford, and the Eagles are eating how much dead cap?

Well, really the reason they are happening isnt the cap in my opinion. Goff just isnt very good and Wentz was hated in the locker room and wanted out.

Players that try and get every last cent out of their team don't sit right with me.

I didn't like it when Tank and Zeke did it either. It honestly makes me become less of a fan of those guys, especially seeing how they basically got lazy once they got what they wanted.

I'm all for players getting paid, but at a certain $$$ it just becomes selfish. Dak knows that getting everything he can will only make this team worse, but it looks like he doesn't care if the team is good or not as long as he gets his. I'm a fan of the Dallas Cowboys before I am a fan of any player. I always want the organization to do right by the team as a whole instead of a single player. It upset me how they allowed Witten to hold the TE position hostage when he was clearly done. It upset me how they refused to move on from Garrett after he wasted so many years.

With that said, I hope Dak and the Boys can reach a contract that benefits both sides. Dak is going to be one of the highest paid players in the history of this league when he signs. I just have a feeling that Dak is worried more about himself over if we're able to field a competitive team around him.
