I'm taking this thing with an eye open to more realistic negotiating on the part of Dak's agent. If Todd France and Dak remain on their current path, the Cowboys will have no choice but to look for other options to avoid being played for suckers. This goes well beyond reasonable expectations by Dak's agent. Hopefully, Dak and France will embrace reality very soon or these contract negotiations will only lead to his and his team's greater distress.

OK, read it.

Dak and is camp are complete and utter morons. No wonder we can't come to a deal, he's being completely unrealistic, not to mention simply stupid.

Does he want out of Dallas or does he know the Jones's are stupid enough to do this?

I still haven't heard Dak say any of this though. If true, sure move on and do something else. I'll wait for more than a SI article with a few quotes by Slater who's been wrong on multiple occasions. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see Dak beating his chest and demanding respect. The Jones's have treated him like a son, made him two fair offers, and have never said anything other than "He's our guy!!!" Seems more like a media driven tidbit designed to enrage the masses than any type of disrespect.

LOL. Then we are going to be in the market for a QB soon.

This franchise would be idiotic to give him a deal with an AAV in the 40s right behind Mahomes.

I think they share the old mentality like a lot of people on here in that if you have a decent QB then you pay them whatever and just accept mediocrity.

They will cave and we will be our Superbowl ceiling is over until he is gone. That's what's going to happen.

The Cowboys do what is best for business and not for championships. Getting ripped off by the QB is good for the Cowboys off the field.

Gee, I wonder why a QB would want out of Dallas?

It's almost as if Dak, and his agent, know this is a loser organization as long as Jerry and Stephen are playing fantasy football.

I can't imagine what gave them that idea.
if he wants out, SAY SO. Don't jerk everyones chain along the way. NOW... I think Watson wanted out all along but instead they called his bluff and paid him the mega deal...and so I doubt Deshaun suddenly decided he didnt wanna be there. Odds are he wanted to be gone.

A few days ago, some posters on here were saying that Mahomes had a team friendly deal that would allow KC to keep players.
Is that the case?
Serious question, I'm not very good at contracts and i know some of you are....
Given the length of the deal they can manipulate the numbers for the cap.

Dak wants a short term top money deal so he can get another pay day in hopes the cap keeps going up.

LOOLLLL

This board hits a new low every day

I think our team has a higher ceiling with a cheap QB then they do a close to Mahomes paid Dak Prescott.

Dak has 1 wildcard win on the best contract in pro sports. Giving him the worst contract in pro sports keeps the floor mediocre but makes the ceiling mediocre.

Like I've said.. I'd rather be terrible then mediocre. It's time to take a risk and avoid this dumb deal.

Did Prescott or France actually equate what they were offering to respect? Or is this another media person with "their take" on this? This doesn't sound like Prescott's approach.

This particular media person is not trustworthy with anything she says and is better suited to reporting for TMZ than any sports net.

I do not fault Prescott going for the gold because that's his business, I never fault a player for going for it. It is the other side that capitulates that is the problem. Prescott is not responsible for cap management.

*the hell of it is that we've got a receiver Corp that could elevate any "mid-range of mediocre" pro caliber quarterbacks game play to similarly accrued Dak stats& that Q.B. would enjoy the luxury of having 'above bargain bin' teammates aboard in their collectively cohesive effortso_O

I respect Dak even more . He holds all of the cards . And he’s playing Jethro like a fiddle.

It’s either going to cost the Cowboys millions more than it could have or we’re going to lose him. Which either scenario isn’t good for Cowboys Football.

And our ownership is already being blasted . As well they should be. Assuming they wanted to sign Dak.

So you applaud Dak being overpaid and costing the team more in salary cap? Okay then.
