Lick my wounds from what?...pretty much the entire football world believes the same thing

we drastically overpaid for a average QB coming off a season ending devastating injury
Your tears taste FANTASTIC.

“The entire football world“, huh?

Name those names. Which credible football minds agree with you that we should’ve let Dak walk?

The nfce is trash and the schedule looks easy. They should make the playoffs. But I dont expect them to contend for another 2-3 years.
Ew, I'm not sure about that. I think we split the series with Philly and Giants, we get swept by the Football Team, we beat Panthers, Saints, Falcons and Broncos. I see 6-10. But maybe 6-10 does win the division. If we sweep the Giants and the Eagles, possible but who knows, then we'll be 8-8.

The division games will be key, more key than usual years because I don't think our division will win a lot of games outside the division. I see us winning 4 games outside the division. The ones I stated above. I don't see us beating KC, TB, LV, Ari, Chargers, Minny.

The old adage, it's not who you play but when you play them will be a factor. Based off of last year I see 6-10. Realistically and not trying to be negative. But last year with a healthy Dak we barely beat one of the worst teams in the league (Falcons) and were slugging it out with the Giants before Dak went down. I agree with you about not competing for anything meaningful for 2-3 years and the division is iffy.

The schedule only looks hard because dallas won't be that great. It I were a fan of a top 10 team I wouldn't be to worried about this schedule

It wouldn't matter if we had Mahomes or Brady or if you paid Dak 1m or 100m . The defense has always been and will continue to be the downfall of the cowboys.

Washington is a quarterback away from dominating this division for some years. Giants posted a top 10 defense and if they ever find an OL and a couple weapons their set too. Eagles just a cluster F like Dallas but hey at least we have a franchise qb
I wonder if that is why Jerry caved to all of Dak's demands. He had to keep him away from the Football Team, cuz you know they would have went after him big time.

This is really, really petty on my part. And I'm comfortable being petty but I would rather overpay Dak and go 6-10 or 7-9 and be average then let him go to the Football Team or the 49ers and win a super bowl. The idea of the 49ers or the Football Team getting Dak and winning the super bowl is harder for me to swallow then us overpaying for Dak.

Exactly, I agree. The schedule wouldn't be that hard if we were good or above average. With our team that schedule looks a little tough.

So now that we signed a gimped up average QB to a record contract....

What happens if we dont even make the playoffs.....which is very likely...Commanders have built themselves a nice Dline when Jerry wasnt looking
Same thing that happens most years recently

What happens if... :muttley:

This thread designed to poo-poo on the Dak deal even before it's officially signed and we have the press conference. It's most certainly trolling.

The Dak haters will give credit to the coach, the defense, the OL, the waterboy, the cheerleaders etc. when Dak makes the playoffs.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

In 5 seasons Dak has never carried this football team. The day he does, he will get credit until then he can continue to ride Zeke and pad his stats against prevent defenses.

Or it's just a very realistic assessment that this team is bad. Even with this winner of a franchise QB.

They haven't even put the roster together for 2021. No one knows what they will be, Mr. cart before the horse. LOL.

I wouldn't ship off Gallup for less than a 1st.

I'd be fine with a 2022 1st and 2021 3rd.

Really hope we find a way to keep Gallup though. Love the player.

I do support trading back though. If a QB falls, I think the Patriots at #15 may be willing to throw in their second rounder if we throw them a 5th & 7th as well.

Nobody is giving a 1st but we should send him to the Ravens for a 2nd.

Ah, the old no one knows anything for next year until it happens defense. (Used exclusively by fans of bad teams)

Who's better in 2021? The Chiefs or the Jets? Aaron Rodgers or Mitch Trubisky? There's just no way to tell yet.

All those that suck on the dak teet will rejoice cause they still have their QB and that's what matters to them. The chances of this team being good enough to win the division let alone a playoff game just got slimmer. If we can draft 4-5 guys of a demarcus ware calibre we might have a chance.

Now we are getting into real football talk (thankfully) after the silly stuff that has been going on. I personally am not willing to give into ineptitude just based off last season. I think last season was a worst case scenario. We are new terra firma. QB is solidified, WR's well above average, RB meh, TE's good and improving OL, it's a question mark but we saw some good things towards the end of the season even with backup guys...so with that said, if the org shows full and complete dedication to the defense in the draft and FA...we should NOT be down on the team. WFT is the biggest threat. They get a QB and they are dangerous but in the last 20+ years they haven't been able to solve that issue. If the Cowboys improve the Defense and continue the offensive aggressiveness, there is absolutely NO reason to believe we aren't in it. The D and lack there of has been the problem for a while. Now that Dak is signed, time to do the real work.
