I think it's cool he's saying these things. Contract is done, he's a Cowboy. Regardless if you wanted him or not, he's here, so continuing to fight about it is worthless. He's expressing there are no hard feelings and he wants to be the leader of this team. To me this is very cool and very positive. If you go back the last couple years the more drama we had in the off season the worse of a season we had. 2016 we balled out. 2017 was filled with Zeke drama over being suspended and his not so great behavior. 2018, good off season and playoff win. 2019 was pretty neutral and we were average. I really believe the less drama and bad press in the off season translates to positive results on the field during the season.

So Dak coming out and saying this is my home, this is my team, I'm never leaving, I'm the leader here. I don't see anything negative about this. In fact I'm happy about it. I'm happy we got a clear alpha male leader in the locker room that the rest of the players rally around. Now he's using social media to tell the Cowboy nation and his team mates that there's no bad blood and no negative residue from the contract situation. Again just establishing the drama is over and let's play football.

Go Cowboys baby!!!

If said miracle happens and we find some players in the draft or UDFA and fix the defense then I could see us winning it all with Dak. Dak is a better version of Joe Flacco, Trent Dilfer. If those guys can win it all with a strong defense then so can Dak. If we put a strong defense, top 10ish defense, with Dak and we got into the playoffs I have no doubt of Dak's play would be good enough to win.

My doubts lie in with the GMs to put a defense around him. My doubts lie with our scouting department hitting big on the draft. Too many Tacos and Mo Claibornes in my recent memory to make me believe that we can rebuild through the draft successfully. If the miracle happens that we do build a defense then my concern for the QB play is not there.

He's had top 10 defenses 3 out of 4 years as a starter.

8-8 at best for the next 4 years.

I

If we can get that defense from 2018 that was 9th to about 7th or 6th with young hungry players, then I feel we'd be contenders.

Yea the Cowboys defense has been average at best. The whole team philosophy for the Garrett era was hide the defense by running the ball as much as possible. Didn't the Cowboys have the worst starting field position in the league in 2019?

I mean, the main job of a defense is to stop the opposing team from scoring right?

This narrative that Dak has had trash defenses is false.

Don't get me wrong, we don't have the 85 Bears defense but people are making them out to be the 32nd ranked defense in order to explain why Dak hasn't been more successful and its simply not true.

Heck, the Eagles win and in game from 2 years ago also comes to mind.. But With Dak it's always something. I wonder what the excuse will be next year

I can already hear the press conference after going 8 and 8

"Ahh, yeah. I was just using this year to heal and get my body and mind right.. Great things in the future for me and tad.. I mean, the cowboys.. Great learning experience.. We will be better next year i never doubt myself"

Put it in 3 inch headlines..
The coaching fault , the defense fault, the WR fault, the RB fault, and the newest the ankle wasn't 100% it takes more than a season to heal.

He went 8-8 with the 10th ranked defense in 2019. So what kinda luck are we talking about here?
We were also close to dead last in starting field position. Why dont you go look up turnovers. 10th ranked means nothing if you arent turning the ball over. Do you need to read Football for Dummies or?

Or you just have a fixation for Romo you can't let go of.

Like Dak, Romo was a great QB. Big fan. Unlike you, I know a good QB when I see one. Had both Dak and Romo pegged in preseason.

Dak is in year #6 and you still havent caught up.

-Backup material
-Bus driver
-Average
-Inaccurate
-Cant throw the deep ball
-Cant read defenses
-Doesnt have a good arm
-Cant throw for 200 yards
-Cant throw for 300 yards
-Cant throw for 400 yards
-Doesnt make anyone around him better

yada, yada, yada.....................................you were dead wrong about all of it. No wonder you want him gone. You simply cant stand the shame of coming on this board EVERY day knowing you got it all wrong. He is a shining beacon of your inability to understand the simple game of football and the QB position.

This is the sort of comment that causes me to look for the Bisodol tablets. I wouldn't leave Texas and the 2nd largest contract in the NFL either. He will be all prepared to up sticks in 3 years time if he doesnt get the money and respect then though. Honestly its bull.
Just play well Dak and justify the contract and win a SB, that all the fans want.

Ranking 10th is actually more impressive considering the lack of turnovers b/c the defense had to play more snaps. Here's a real stat for you, Dak is 9-11 over his last 20 games he's started and finished. Pretty sure you are the dummy here.

Didn't want to pay him top elite money for a 5 year QB that did nothing. Your Romo fixation has just blinded you to Daks short comings and inability to win against the better teams and not choke when it matters, sound familiar. Year 6 and 1 play off win , great leadership to what? Stats Prescott king of garbage time, sound familiar. You Dakholes just can't see the light. You and Jerry know a good QB when you see one, I bet you said Weedon throws the prettiest ball too . Keep the laughs coming.

Dak is 42-27 as a starter. If we are using wins/losses as a QB stat. Who looks stupid? It sure aint me sir. Also I love how you skated away from the field position stat. Worst in the NFL. But hey. Its ok. I can order the book for you. Amazon and google are great tools to expand your knowledge.
