Can you just wish him well? Is that too difficult for you too? Or are you also more comfortable being an *** to players.

Worst relative to what the FO tried to sell him as that’s for sure.

It’s another failure that I personally attribute to Marinelli. He sold the team that Crawford was a ‘star 3-technique in the making’. And he was dead wrong. Crawford was soon bumped out of that role by a rookie Malik Collins, and the team tried to shoehorn Crawford in wherever they could after that. While grossly overpaying to do so.

And even when they could have benefited from getting out of the contract, they ‘doubled down on dumb’ and willfully chose to keep him. Two years and $20 million for nothing.

One of the most embarrassingly stupid things this team has ever done.

The right thing was done....and the timing was right......before the draft.

I never saw what they apparently saw in him. JAG who made millions. Maybe Jerry will open a club and hire him as a bouncer.

It’s not you. There was nothing to see. The Cowboys guessed wrong and paid a player who never became what they thought, hoped, or paid for.

But the organization stubbornly kept him and kept paying rather than admitting an obvious mistake.

They always played the injury excuse with him too.

every year we would hear about how he was dealing with an injury all season long and in pain, etc etc.

Doesn’t matter if you were hurt. You were on the field. Produce or don’t produce. There is no try.

Much respect for Tyrone Crawford. He might have been limited at times, but he gave the Cowboys everything he had out on the field and as a team captain. Good luck in your future endeavors and enjoy your much deserved retirement, Tyrone. Make sure to stay in touch.

There's a difference between wishing someone well and a poster saying he earned his contract.

I do wish him well. I wish any athlete well who makes the tough decision to finally give up their sport. I work with some of these guys everyday, I see the toll it takes.

He definitely did not "earn" $28.25M ($38.25M if you count his $10M signing bonus) the last 4 years. In those 4 seasons, he had 75 tackles (average of 18 per year) and 12.5 sacks (just over 3 sacks per season average). Not his fault that Jerry gave him a ridiculous contract and that Jerry's ego wouldn't allow them to move on from him, but in a sport with a salary cap, that is a horrible use of resources.

Would you pay someone an APY of $9.56M for 18 tackles and 3 sacks per year?

God forbid you awful people could find something nice to say and wish him well. He was drafted here and spent his entire career here. He wasn't a bad player. Did you personally pay his salary? No? Then you don't get to complain about money he was paid.
The reason the Cowboys gave money is because we watch them on Sunday.
Remember that

Just another example of how messed up this organization is. This was a contract given out by the old man Monty Kiffin and it didn’t expire till this year. Unreal!
